Question about Whirlpool RBS305PDS Electric Single Oven

2 Answers

Whenever I set the oven to heat, or set the clock, whatever, I get back a question "start?" The agents came today and said they no longer have parts for that oven. (they mean here in Trinidad and Tobago, I guess) Its an underused oven although its more than 10 years old, because I used my small oven to bake most times. I refuse to dump it. Its still in good shape inside and outside. Model RBS 305 POD1 SERIAL: XF4801588

Sorry the model number is 305 PDQ1

I checked the parts available from Sears for the panel control that you say I need to replace, but there are more than one part. How do I know which one I need?

Once I get this part, how do I replace it?

Start/Enter
The START/ENTER pad begins any oven function except the
Timer. If not pressed within 5 seconds after pressing a pad,
START?" will appear on the oven display as a reminder. If not
pressed within 4 minutes after pressing a pad, the oven display
will return to the time of day mode and the programmed function
will be canceled.

In other words press the start button within 5 seconds of making change. You can download a manual here:

How do I get the ovens working if the clock works, but they do not?

You'll have to make sure that the clock has been set for Manual cooking and not inadvertently set it on Auto. However if your breaker tripped because of a fault on your oven the internal switching of the timer may have been damaged as a result of the fault.

Ovens won't heat

Have you set the clock alot of ovens need the clock set so the oven will work, this is a safety thing so if you set the oven to turn off after 1 hour or at a certain time of day and say the power went out or the gas was turned off and came back on then the oven won't just start up on its own

I purchased a microwave/convect oven combo last week. Installed today, everything works fine except that the lower oven won't heat. I tried turning the breakers off waiting a few minutes and back on. ...

Ensure that the clock is set and that is not in auto mode, the clock is only linked to the main oven and therefore it will not opearte if the clock is not set correctly, all the best

GE J BP27G R1AD Oven Not Heating Fully

Hi Jeff. You should have a wiring diagram with the range. Check for an envelope on the back of the range, inside the back splash, or taped to the inside side wall of the range if you remove the lower drawer. That all being said, first check to see if the start or stop time knobs on the timer have been pushed in (and possibly turned). If the clock runs, it will clear this out within 12 hours, but on these old ranges often times the clock no longer runs. Make sure these knobs are turned until they have "popped" out or you won't get the necessary voltage where you need it. Secondly, when a bake element burns out, it can cause damage to the electrical contacts in the oven selector switch (part number WB22X5122 ) which can be tested with an ohm meter if you can find the electrical diagram. Also, the oven thermostat (part number WB21X5320 ) can be damaged in the same way. Unfortunately, these parts for these old units are not very cheap.
The little bit of heat you are getting in your oven now is most likely only from the 120 volts going to the broiler element when in Bake. During Bake, your bake element should get 240 volts (until thermostat is satisfied). Setting to Broil should give 240 to the broil element.

Hi TbearFTW,

Try the Sabbath mode feature. It may realease the oven to cook for longer. Press the Clock button for more than 5 seconds. I think that is what you do to get the Sabbath mode canceled or set.

Baumatic bt180 oven

assume a fan oven.does fan turn and oven light come on? if so problem is the circular element. if no fan and no oven light, then clock probably needs setting - this will be in instruction book. clocks sometimes go wrong but not often. if clock is faulty, a cheap repair is to bypass the clock so auto function no longer works
