Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater

2 Answers

We would like our CM67NG to come on at the time to which we set it, but it always comes at some point (sometimes 3 hours) before the set time. How can I make it do as requested?

I have looked at these more obvious things, and am convinced that it is something to do with the "Optimum Start" system. Presumably it looks at the differential between the room temperature and the required temperature to decide how long it will need to attain the required temperature; but this will depend on the max water temperature which has been set on the boiler control. Seems a somewhat hit and miss arrangement

I think that after reading about this product, that it adjusts itself to try to get heat to the comfortable level, before the user expects it to be that temperature. In your case, you do not like it when the thermostat behaves in this way.

I would try another model of thermostat from Honeywell, as Honeywell has a wide variety of thermostats that will work with your furnace or boiler application.

Good luck on getting a better digital thermostat, or else, get a more manual one.

It may be that the time is set wrong on the thermostat. While it is a radio controlled thermostat it may not be able to pick up the signal. The clock can be set manually. There's a manual available in Adobe Reader format at http://www.bvt.org.uk/shropshire/pdf/usermanuals/HoneywellCM67.pdf
which explains the complete setup for your thermostat. If the clock is not the problem I would suggest wiping the settings clean by removing the batteries. Leave it for a while to lose the inbuilt memory and then reprogramme it from the beginning. I hope this helps

Cant`t get the chimes to ring at the correct time. Not sure why this happened. i have always been able to stop the clock determine am & pm then restart

The next time it chimes multiple times turn the hour hand clockwise until it is pointing at the number of times it gonged. Next take off the dial nut off (make sure to put it in a plastic bag because they can be hard to replace) and turn the minute hand until it chimes signaling 15 minutes after. Now put the minute hand back on pointing to 3 o'clock and replace your dial nut and you are all set.

Can not set up my hydrofarm timer to come on for 1 min and off for 5 min.

You posted next to a photo showing hydrofarm analog timer with segments located on dial face.
Open following link for general look at setting analog timers.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-set-timers.html

Analog timers have a minimum set time of 15 minutes because the trippers-or-pins-or-segments are made certain width.
If you want 1 minute ON and 5 minutes OFF, you need digital timer.
Most digital timers have minimum set time of 1 minute.
But digital timers have limited number of set points per day unless you get into heavy-duty Intermatic timer like the ET70115 timer with 100 or so set points.

If you want 1 minute on and then 5 minutes off, and want to repeat that same cycle over and over throughout the day and night, you would need 240 set points.
Or check out 120V adjustable cycle timers.
https://www.grainger.com/Grainger/cycle-timers/timers/electrical/ecatalog/N-8hbZ1z0q55s

If you want the cycle timer to operate certain hours only, then put ordinary 24-hour timer between the cycle timer and the load.

One possibilty is the therm has a antisipator setting, meaning Ex; at 7:00 you want 72*f,but the house is 62*f at 6:15 the therm will bring on the heat early so the house will be at 72*f@7:00.There should be a short lag if it is comming on at 4:00 it is something else.

Raypack pool/spa heater works intermittently

You can try pulling your pilot assembly out and clean it. Sometimes it will get sooted up and cause the sensor to short so the heater get's a falce reading and shuts the heater down. Then sometimes the heater will start and sometimes it won't. If this dosen't help check the ignition wire for any cracks or anyplace it may be shorting. Good luck.

RCA DVD Recorder (drc8000n) loses time

Is it always a minus 4:11:50 reset? Do you use Guide Plus+ or something like it for recording off-air? I would think the clock would be set automatically from an external source if you wanted to synchronize with scheduled programs.

I would bet if yoy set the clock and disconnected the cable it would NOT change again in 3 hours as it has been doing. Experiment with that sometime. I'll bet the problem is up the foodchain somwhere.

Honeywell CM67ng thermostat not working. Have tried various programmes but still seems to have mind of its own. Can we replace with something else?

The cm67ng has a feature which attempts to get the temperature to the desired point before the actual time you set. In reality this "feature" just makes the device turn on and off randomly in a really bemusing fashion. You can turn this off with the following:

1, Set timer mode to "OFF"
2, Hold down "Info i" and press "prog 3" and "prog 4" together. Display Should show a spanner in the left hand corner.
3, press "prog 2"
4, repeated press "clock +" till the characters in the display after the colon read "OP" (the number before the colon seems to vary with model).
5, Press the "temp down" button. The 1 in the right hand of the display should become a 0.
6, Press the "info i" button to save your changes.
7, Switch the mode back to auto, the timer should now behave normally.

You should note that a number of other parameters can be changed in this service mode. Some of which could probably do bad things to your central heating system if set incorrectly.. So this is at your own risk! Either way it's best to read the installation manual before attempting to change anything:

Self-cleaning feature of GE Built-In Oven does not work

Simply set the Clock and Delay Start to the current time, then set the Stop Time ahead 3 hours. For example, if it is currently 8:00 then set the Stop Time to 11:00. The lights on the console will come on and the cleaning cycle will begin. At some point during the cycle when the oven gets hot enough, the lock mechanism is "fixed" and will not release until the cycle is complete.
