If the aove is not successful you need to let us know. You might also try disconnecting the power for both the dsl/cable modem and then 1. plug in the dsl and wait until the DSL light is slid green, then plug in the router. You might ls have to restart your computer (do this in the exact order), but that may not be necessary.

BTW, if the dsl light is not solid green on your modem you will need to call the phone/cable company.

All ADSL routers are very fussy when it comes to power fluctuations, even the tiniest can set them into error, first thing to try, is pull the power cord out of the back of the modem, wait a couple of minuteds, then plug it back it, give it a few moments to re-connect and see how it is, if no luck with that, check the DSL, or ADSL light is on and solid.. if so look on the bottom of the modem for an ip address, open internet explorer browser, type that ip address into the address bar and hit enter, it should prompt you for a username and password.. usually ADMIN for both user and pass.. then go to "status" or "diagnostics" depending on the modem, and it will give you a run down on any potential problem..

PPP error: username and password are wrong (Authentication Failure)

I can't seem to be able to connect to the modem using the website 192.168.1.1 log on. I've the lan cable connected. On the lights...the status light kept blinking and the ADSL, WLAN and LAN 1 status light...

1.Make sure there are no problems with your network card and cable.
2. Run cmd and go to command line
3. Run ipconfig
4. Your router's IP is Default gateway, if it different from 192.168.1.1 you router address was changed and you must access to new one
5. If it 192.168.1.1 try to ping it. If no ping here, your router probably broken
6. This behavior may happens also if router overheated

Hi, I have a dlink DSL-G604T router, wlan light not on.

Hello there!

Only thing that can cause your wlan light not working consistantly or with some blinks (which is normal thing) is bad lan cable which leads from your ADSL modem to your wlan entrance on your wireless router, please check that cable in order to fix that problem. Cable doesnt need to be coaxial so it can have 2 different lan sets (2 poles of exits male and female exit). Thats it ! =)

Please rate solution! =)

Seems that my connection lasts about 2 hours on my G604t then loses connection to my ISP, I can connect through a different modem and I have connection immediately so I know its not the ISP. As soon as I...

If you are using the Windows wireless service to connect this is designed to search for new routers every 20 mins it might be that this is your problem disable it HERE it can also be known to bump your off you wireless connection.

Then use you network cards own software to connect to your router this should give you the best results.

The modem's been changed and cannot locate the CD to the driver to connect to the internet. The model is DSL-G604T/AU V.A3.

Hi! your dlink dsl-604T is adsl router modem, you can access the setup page of your modem router by connecting your computer directly to the port1 of the modem router and the cable from your isp should be connected to the WAN port. u need to pull up the browser and type in at the url:192.168.1.1 and it will ask the username and password, by default the username is admin and the password is 1234 or leave it blank, but i suggest before u do this steps. u need to reset your modem/router. there is a reset button on the back of the router and press it for 20secs and then unplug and replug it after 10secs. after that u can pull up the setup page of the router.. to check the default gateway of the router, right click the network icon on the lower right of the task bar and select status and it will show the ip address, subnet and default gateway..

u need to know what internet settings u have with your internet provider, bcoz once u access the setup wizard it will ask u the type like auto-dhcp, pppoe, static etc.. if your isp gives u a username and pass to connect to internet u have to select pppoe or if u are given a static ip address setting u need to select static ip... just follow the setup wizard..

Try to see if there is sufficient ip address the router gives. The flashing thing only means that it is processing infos.

ADSL Dropping on DSL-G604T

You can try something to narrow down where the problem is. Plug your pc directly into your modem and unplug your router altogether. This will not allow you to use you other computers on the internet. Don't worry you only have to do this for 4 or 5 hours. If the pc remains on net and you have no glitches then you might want to think about getting a new router. Since the router worked fine for 8 months, I wouldn't think the settings got changed. Routers aren't perfect pieces of equipment, I have had to purchase 3 in 4 years.
