Dvd recorder - dvd+rw disc loaded - now stuck on load
I have loaded a dvd+rw disc (previously used) into the dvd recorder. It has been stuck on load for about 20 minutes and no other commands will work -same message on everything "cant complete this operation now".
I have turned the dvd off at power outlet and on again and tired to get the disc tray to open but it will not.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

The DVD-RW will work at random, some brands will wok better than others. Memprex, Sony, Maxell are 3 I can use sometimes. Once the disk is accepted it must be formatted. Click that and if accepted, first do a record for say 2 minutes to see if ti works.
If it works don't take it out until you're ready to finalize it. That's mostly so the disk will be readable in other players, should it not want to go back in, you probably lost the record. Don't write on the back, use a card and keep it in the cover.
Sometimes I can use those disk's in PC for data. regards
Hi, Does it do with original DVD or copied DVD ?. if the original one works fine but the others not, your DVD may not capable of playing copy -R/RW discs..even though your DVD specs says: Plays DVD-Video, video-mode DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW, CD-R/CD-RW, MP3 CD, Kodak Picture CD, and JPEG image CDs, sometimes this happens due to bad recording of DVD .Try to use better recorded DVD or if possible use the original ones.. Thanks in advance for rating me..Regards

Please be aware that a free software upgrade is now available to customers. This upgrade will enable your unit to recognize the (DVD-R 8x) discs. To obtain a copy, please call 1-800-242-7158. Customer service by phone is available 7 days a week 6:00am to 9:00pm pacific time.
In order to receive the upgrade we need to know what firmware version your unit requires. First you need to access the DVD recorders service mode. Turn on the DVD Recorder and the Television, make sure the unit is on the DVD side. You may access the service mode by pressing the CMSKIP button on the remote control. Once you press CMSKIP you must press the numbers 1,2,3. You must do this quickly so it may take a couple tries. The model name will appear on the screen followed by Firmware Version. I need to know the serial number next to FE: Press the RETURN button to exit screen.

Are you loading to play or to record? Commercial DVDs should play. DVDs for recording may not be recognized by your drive. First make sure that the disc is blank. You must insert a blank disc of the proper format: DVD-R or RW, DVD+R or RW. Even with the proper format, some brands may not behave the same way as other brands.
I had the same problem. After trying several brands, the only one which is working perfectly is Maxell (yellow discs). I found them is the US (Seattle), have not seen them in France where I am leaving. Hope it can help !
sometimes this happens. now. the dvd you put in was it rewritable. a friend could not run his dvd recorder until i gave him a dvd+r rw disc in and lo, it worked. some dvds have this function without telling you, perhaps it is in the instructions in small print. also, try a straight dvd+r disc, not a rewrite. experiment with other discs because some will not see cheap discs but expensive ones. i have dvd that does not even reconise a dvd, but when i wish to burn a dvd, i use that one because it is the best. strange isnt it...
I had that exact same problem. I would record a bunch of dvds with no problems for months and then some and one day it doesn't work. Only this showed up E4 EA03738B. However I've found the solution. Instead of going out and returning the recorder or buying new dvds just purchase a Laser Lense Cleaner. It's a dvd cleaner. Works like a charm.
