Hello,

can you specify the model. In most cases it is sufficient to press the info button on the remote control.

Best regards,
Arpi

Hi,

May I know if the standby led light at the front panel is blinking, if so please count how many times it will flash to determine the error code? If not follow the steps below.

In standby mode press the button of the remote control in sequence, " Display ", " Channel 5 ", " Vol (-) ", " Power ". Self diagnosis screen will displays. Le me know the result.

The "new device found" screen keeps popping up

Inspect for damaged pin on INPUT 1 socket. (left most of the three HDMI connectors)
A quick pull on the cable can damage the pins.
=== If you see mis-aligned pins then please power off the set before making corrective action. ===
============== Here's a textbook instruction from Mitsubishi
If the New Device Found Screen Displays No HDMI Control Option If the New Device Found screen shows no option for HDMI Control, one of these conditions applies: • HDMI Control is turned off in the menus of the new device Action: a. Highlight EXIT and press ENTER to close the New Device Found screen. b. Display the device's setup menus and enable the device's CEC capabilities. c. Wait for the TV's New Device Found screen to appear again. d. If the New Device Found screen does not appear, power off the device. Power on the device and wait for the New Device Found screen to display with the HDMI Control option.
Next time you see the NEW DEVICE FOUND screen pop up.
Toggle the CEC field (on the right side of the pop up) to OFF.

My tv keeps going into service mode can i stop this? and after i get it out of service mode it enters the menu screen every ten minutes can i stop that?

Try pushing ACTION & Power both at the same time on the front of the set for several seconds---set should go off and come back on with the "self" check displayed in the middle of the screen---hit menu or turn set off and back on and you should be clear of the service mode.

IF this helps, rate this solution as I do this here for free.

The channel number wont disappear.

Most TVs have a "display" button on the remote that controls the on-screen display. Keep pressing it and the display should finally go away. Depending on the brand and model, the screen may cycle through a number of different displays first, but should finally clear.

Unwanted text on screen

You sure the graphics are being produced by the TV? If you are using a cable box, it may be coming from there. The other pssibility is a stuck button on the front panel. That can cause displays to come up without warning and won't go away until you get the button unstuck. Try wiggling all the front panel buttons.

Sharp LC37D44U. Display in top right corner keeps coming on. It cannot decide whether the audios is "mono" or "stereo."

I think you mean the channel/audio status display keeps coming on which normally indicates a poor reception (the channel beacon would come on when changing channels and then goes off) I think you should have your aerial system checked out.

Panasonic PT-53WX52F rear projection powers off after 10 seconds

I had the same problem and found the answer at http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1fhzu-pt-53wx52-hdtv-not-unplug-comes. Then I found a detailed write-up for the procedure at http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1fhzu-pt-53wx52-hdtv-not-unplug-comes that gave me the courage to attempt the repair.

The result was successful. The TV works and the picture looks better than ever. It cost me about $40 in parts and two hours of labor !!

Good luck!
