A little more detail may be needed but first off I will provide you with some general information that may help

For laptops that provide more than one output for headphones and speakers make sure that they are plugged into the correct port. A quicj check can usually be done with MP3 player headphones to find the correct port

A rule of thumb is to plug them into the GREEN coloured port
Also ensure that the volume is turned up on the computer (assumes windows) by clicking on the speaker icon in the lower right toolbar.

For USB speakers make sure ithat the latest software is installed as they will quite often fail to work without this. (model of your speakers would be useful here)

If they are a powered type speaker then either make sure batteries are in correctly or that the power supply is in and working (usually indicated with a light on the speakers)

Some speakers use a PUSH to turn on the power as part of the volume control so make sure that is IN.

If you want to let me know the model of both the speakers and computer / laptop and maybe operating system I will try to help you a little more

These are just the regualr 2.1 speakers so should be fine.

To test the speakers themselves you can pluf them into an MP3 player and that would confirm the speakers themselves are working but again make sure they are powered up and plugged in correctly to the corresponding left speaker right speaker on the bass unit.

Then plug the INPUT lead and NOT the headphone lead into your MP3 player and set it playing with the volume at about 1/2 way. If you dont get any sound then you may want to look at returning them, presuming you did switch them on.

There is an AUX port on these speakers where you can plug in headphones that will cancel the output to the speakers themselves so make sure you have not accidently plugged into that.

I JUST bought a insignia speaker 2.1 (model # NS-PCS21) and the speaker plug ins are pluged right, power are plug in, the green and the red cord plugged in... i see blue light comming up. my computer sound...

Greetings - The setup (as you already know) is simple. If you have the a/c adapter plugged in, the power on and the green speaker cable in the audio out at the back of your PC and and the red cable plugged into the subwoofer and the volume knob on the the right speaker turned up that's all it takes.

The one possible gotcha I can see is if you have something plugged into the jack at the BACK of the right speaker (an AUX jack for things like MP3 players, etc.) it will override everything else.

If that's all good you have a bad set of speakers.

Just bought these new speakers to use for phone

Pretty much not. With speakers, you usually get what you pay for. As far as "showing up" the only thing you get is the little speaker icon at the lower right hand corner of the screen.

No sound from speakers

insert the ear/head phone in backpanel sound pin (Green color),

1.if You can hear the sound in ear/Head phone, then the problem is in the speaker.replace the speakers

2.if You can't hear the sound in ear/Head phone, then the problem is in your system audio driver. So Down load the audio driver which is suitable for your system and install it.

You don't need a driver for speakers. Plug them into the green receptor on your sound card or your sound port on your motherboard.

I have a dell pc and I am not getting sound form the insignia 2.0 speakers.

You did make sure that the speakers are plugged into the green audio connections, in the back of your computer, right? If so, try this, go to your control panel and double click Sounds and Audio Devices. Under speaker settings, go to Advanced and check to see if its set for desktop speakers. Also, in control panel, go to Sound Effects Manager and do a speaker test and see if they work. Hopefully this will help.

Speaker problem

Hi, Assuming that the speaker is plug in to the PC and power is also applied to the speaker - If the PC sounds comes out of the headset but not on the speakers, then the speakers are defective. Being new/recently bought, your best course of action would be to bring the unit back for replacement or at least the speakers since trying to repair it would void the warranty. Please remember to bring proof of purchase, warranty card or whatever document(s) are required for this sort of complaint. Good luck and kind regards.
