Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

We have already installed a new cartridge, we have done all that is requested for us to do and even uninstalled and reinstalled program and the system still tells us we need to replace cartridge. The system will still not let us do any functions at all. Patsy Villa

    Hi,
    Thank you for your response. Per your request the Model of the printer is: HP Officejet J5780 All-In-One. It is less than a year old. We replaced the old cartridge with a new HP Black Cartridge.

    Per my husband, it was purchased in 2009 alittle over a year ago. But we only have had it in use for about 6mos. I am going to guess that they will not honor the warranty now. Can you think of anything that could be causing this problem?

First off what is the make and model of the printer? How long have you owned it? Did you replace it with an OEM cartridge or with a re-manufactured/refilled cartridge? Once I have more information I can assist you further.

    Being that it is less then a year old I would actually recommend you contact HP immediately. 800-474-6836
    It sounds like you should have this repair/replaced under warranty. Make sure to keep any of the new cartridges you bought and not to send them with the printer.

    Follow that link for all the troubleshooting steps. If you continue to have an issue I would still call HP and complain as even a little over a year, you should be able to troubleshoot this problem and the printer shouldn't be "defective" already.

Sounds like the installation of Opera is corrupt. If you saved the installation file, reinstall it. If not, go to their site and download the latest version and install that one. If it tells you there is already a version installed, it may ask if you want to uninstall it. You do. Even new cartridges can prove to be faulty; even more so ones that have be refilled. If you have exhausted the options in the print software (i.e. Test Print, Print Alignment, Head Cleaning, etc.) and the reseating of the cartridge a few times, then depending on your will for either try:
1. Go to the store and replace the cartridge telling them you think its faulty.
2. Firstly, Unplug the Printers connecting cable (USB, DB25, etc.).Then uninstall both the Printing software and Printer drivers (usually the same package) under "Add Remove Programs" (Windows OS). Restart the computer, then reinstall the Printer software (following the prompts on exactly when to reconnect the printer to the computer, *Important*), and then restart again.

I have still not found an answer to my request for help. I have installed anew Black ink cartridge and it contiunes to tell me that there is no cartridge in there and to reinstall. I have done that many...


try removing the cartridges and make sure there is no obstruction blocking the circuitry and reinstall. also try shutting off the printer and wait 5 minutes then turn it back on to see if it resets itself. then try installing all new full ink cartridges and see what it does. if this all fails then take it to a repair shop for more detailed diagnostics.

Hi,
To fix this problem first you have to do a hard reset by pressing and holding the cancel and the left arrow while plugging in the power cord. This performs a partial reset which will give access to the country and region settings if they are available.
If that doesn't solve your problem uninstall and reinstall the driver. Its always possible that you may have an actual hardware/parts problem in the printer. To uninstall the driver first you should open your "Control Panel Utility", then open the "Add/Remove Programs", then under "Install/Uninstall", highlight and "Remove" any old printer drivers that may already be installed. Sometimes the same older drivers can be corrupted and conflict with newer drivers. Uninstall the program from your computer. Plug in your printer first replace with new cartridge making sure to remover the film on the cartridge Then plug in patch cord to computer, program should reinstall if need be you may have to have your disk that comes with the printer. Hope this works, Printers are going for very cheap I would suggest buying a new one if this does not work.

Lexmark 2500 printer problems


its very possible the new cartridge is faulty. I would suggest getting another one. Some new cartridges are acutually refurbished and just refilled and sold. Eventually they stop working correctly.

HP Printer will no longer scan


Hi Keithcarrol

Please do the following
1. Go to Control Pannel then sellect Add/Remove Programs and uninstall all HP Software.
2. Disconnect all Prinetrs
3. Go to Control Pannel then sellect Printers and Faxes make sure there is no Printers in there if there is delete them
4. Install Psc 2210 software and follow instructions on when to connect printer.

Power Light Continues to blink.


if you are having issues after installing the new cartridges , then perform the following steps.

unplug the power adapter and remove both the cartridges and then power on the printer , look for the power light. if it does not blink then .
install the black cartridge first and then try to print , if it prints fine its ok. then remove the black cartridge and then put the color one in and then try printing or copying .

if it doesnot print with any either black/ color then you have to replace that particular caratridge..
