After connecting the Segate Hard Drive in your computer go to Control Panel. In Control Panel you will the option Administrative Tool. In Administrative Tool open the Computer Management and you will find the number of attached Hard Drive and the Partitions they have. If the Hard Drive you have attached is not showing the partition then there may some physical damage with the Hard Drive media. Please get your Hard Drive checked by Segate professionals and then replace the Hard Drive with new one.
Hi, I have also experienced similar problem and found out that the problem is with the harddisk. It may have bad sectors which cannot be rectified. If your harddisk is older than 3 years then probablity for this this kind of problem is high. Better claim the warranty for your harddisk if its life is within 3 years as segate HDDs were given 3 years warranty. I hope this is helpful to you
i) i would wisely suggest you not to open the compartment of harddisk, try taking it to nearest repair centre since these part are very delicate(like they have delicated soldering ...or components....)
i would suggest not messup with the broken parts and loose your whole harddisk ..............
