SOURCE: I need assistance on replacing
Its fitted with bolts, you need right tool to remove the crank.Disassembling the bike's covers and parts to get to the bad assembly required a pair of snap-ring pliers and a gear puller for the crank arms. Replacement is a few minute job with the proper tools; without them you'll be going back to Sears to buy them, or waiting for their "home service." crank assembly. The assembly uses three sets of roller bearings, with the middle set in a "carrier" that causes them to lock against the shaft and the outer casing when turned in one direction, while freely turning in the other. This is how the "freewheel" capability is achieved. The outside end of this assembly rides on a roller bearing (supporting the pedal arm on the right side), and there are two more roller bearings in the frame supporting the remainder of the shaft to the other side (where the other pedal arm connects.) .

Be aware that the resistance is often
the part that requires repair. Resistance is managed magnetically, so
often if the machine is working, but the resistance isn't setting
correctly or at all, check the bolts that secure the magnets. If they
are loose, the resistance will slip. If the bolts are fine, check the
magnets themselves by using a refrigerator magnet and see if it is
attracted or repelled by the your fridge magnet. If not, the magnets
have de-magnetized and need to be replaced.
God bless you
