My TV started shutting off by itself a while ago. Then, it'd shut off and would not come back on. Do I need to replace the bulb.

Hello,
that sounds like the control board is overheating and the graphic chip is getting fault and keeps shutting down.Or the power supply as a bad capacitor, and that can do the same thing .

Samsung HLS5086WX/XAA made popping noise and shut off, then made whirring noise.


When my TV did this in the past it ended up being the color wheel. I had someone replace it and it worked fine. I asked it if had to be calibrated after it is installed and he said no. Also make sure the door switch is pushed down when you install the back bulb door. Sometimes this switch can go bad as well.

50v710 turns off by itself then on


Have you check the power supply,that's what it seems to me.

TV shuts itself off after a couple minutes of being on.


One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.

capacitor problems in power supply or a regulater isolate the power suppley by disconecting the line output stage/unplug scan coils for example and run a 60w bulb as a dummy load one wire to earth and the other to rail voltage colecter of line output transister if the bulb glows steady the power supplys fine
