Question about Nikon Coolpix S210 Digital Camera

1 Answer

It won't take a picture. Everything else seems to be fine and turns on and off without a problem. The battery ran out just before this, and after charging it refused to read the SD card in it and it started to have this problem.

Thanks, I tried, but it doesn't work.

Actually, I took out the card and tried taking a picture without the flash and it worked. Is it a flash problem? (I'm guessing yes, but what can be done to fix it?)

lets see, put the card back in and try taking a picture. if it works the flash might be bad, there is a big capacitor on the flash that might have gone bad and would need to be replaced but I can't say for sure.

You could also reset the camera to default settings from its menu. see if that helps.

If the flash is just bad it might not be too much of a repair. I don't know what people would charge for it, you would need to get a repair estimate.

Check that the master switch on the external condenser fan housing is turned on, it is a sliding button like switch.

Old Pride Rally won't charge or run

The batteries may be too old to take a charge. They are gell cell types and can be had at any battery shop. You can get them on line too, but shipping will be high.

I wouldn't think catalytic converter, without it giving some indication that it was going bad, but without testing it is hard to say.
When it cranks and won't start, check for battery voltage to the coil on the dark green wire, with key ON. If you have power at the coil, it might be a bad coil. If no power to the coil, it could be a Crank Position Sensor or the Cam Position Sensor inside the distributor. If one of those is bad, it can stop the computer from sending power to the coil.
Good luck.

I ran into this once also, and I remember that I just disconnected the battery for about half an hour.

Try that if you haven't already.

Camera wont turn on

How I fixed my Camera:

> First take your Memory card off, and remove battery
> Now, leave your camera without battery-power
=(wait for while!)

>Then,start your camera WITHOUT Memory-Card.

Note: MiniSD Card with adapter, may crash/freeze camera.
(so use the real "one piece" SD-card, not that Micro-thing!)

>When i removed the old SD card, everything was OK.

I hope this can help many others?
