Question about Lexmark X83 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Recently a virus took over my pc. When the problem was fixed, my file for my X5150-x83 WAS GONE. Do I need a set-up disc to put my printer back in my system?

The driver for Lexmark x83 can be downloaded from this page

  • On the page which opens, select the operating system of your computer (Windows XP, etc.) and download the drivers from the list which opens.

Lost disk to download X5150 to my laptop


go to www.lexmark.com then click the tab that has to do with driver downloads.. then click "drivers"... then type x5150 in the model .. then select the appropriate version of windows that you have, and run the file.. that's what i had to do to fix mine

Unlock scanner keeps appearing on my lexmark x85 printer


Go to the Lexmark web site here: http://support.lexmark.com/perl/support/support.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0
- In the SEARCH BY MODEL box, type in X85 and click SEARCH
- In the SEARCH THE KNOWLEDGBASE box, type in UNLOCK SCANNER. It will show some instructions for the X83, but that was the little brother of the X85, so should work.

Hello here! i have tried to install my lexmark x5150 to my compacq laptop, and cant get it to print, i have installed the disc countless times wiyh out any progress can you help?


Try this:
first uninstall the disc's software
than restart the laptop
if correct it will automaticly detect your printer and ask for the disk.
cancel the installation.
Insert the disk and cancel the automatic running program for installation.
go to start, printers, add new printer and follow the steps from there untill it says "have disk" click on have disc and brose to your CD drive. It will automatically indicate which program it requires, search on the disc that program and click OK and continue the steps.

Reason: automatic installations from manufacturers sometimes do not install all files needed by windows, installing via windows itself it will automaticcaly pick the correct files from the disc.

JT, install the scanner unit via windows as a new scanner (start, printers and scanners, new device) and browse to the unzipped files when windows asks for installation files, this should make the scanner part work.

It is the setup installation file or an auto-extracting compressed set of files. You can choose to save the file and not run it so that it may be transferred to the other PC.

Scanning to file


check for the all drivers of your machine are installed on your pc. if all drivers are installed check for the "twain" settings in scanners and cameras in control panel. another solution is reintalling a fresh copy of drivers will resolve the issue.
