Probably a good idea to remove the brush and clean as best you can. Add some WD40 at each end by the plastic clips and turn by hand until they move freely. Reassemble being sure the belt is on properly.

I think I am not getting suction but maybe its something else.

Hey, this is Jeremy with Crucial Vacuum,

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your vacuum Kylie. I believe the issue may be a result of the belt or brush not being on perfectly. If either of them are off slightly it can cause your vacuum to potentially shoot out dust.

If the problem is related to suction, I have provided you with some steps below to fix the issue.

1. Check the canister to see if it is full. If so, simply empty it into your waste receptacle and make sure nothing is blocking the hole where dust and debris enters the canister.

2. Check to see if the hose is clogged. To do so, take off the canister and look down the tube where debris enters from. If you see any obstructions try to use a pair of tweezers or something else to dislodge the obstruction.

3. The roller brush may be clogged. To check, turn your vacuum on its side and look at the brush. Make sure your vacuum is off when doing so. Sift through the brush making sure nothing is lodged in the brush.

4. Your filter may be too dirty. You will either need to clean your filter or replace it with a new one depending on how old it is. To clean it push the purple tab at the top of your vacuum and remove the handle. Then, remove the filter and determine if it can be salvaged.

WITH NOTHING CONNECTED I AM GETTING NO SUCTION

Hey, this is Jeremy with Crucial Vacuum,

I am sorry to hear that your Dyson does not have any suction. I have had plenty of experience in fixing issues exactly like this. Below I have listed various things that might be wrong and how to fix them.

Sift through the brush making sure nothing is lodged in the brush or preventing it from spinning.

4. Your filter may be too dirty. You will either need to clean your filter or replace it with a new one depending on how old it is. To clean it push the purple tab at the top of your vacuum and remove the handle. Then, remove the filter and determine if it can be salvaged.

Red light indicator comes on with suction only

Hi there Christy! It sounds like you possibly have a clog in your main hose. To check the hose for clogs remove the hose completely from the vacuum from both ends. Use a broom stick or something similar to loosen and remove any clogs from the hose. Remove the bottom plate and the brushes. Use a wooden spoon to gently break up and remove any clogs from the lower hose. Hope this helps!

Maybe I could replace the belts and brush, but there seem to be too many places to go into to repair a suction problem. I need a repair shop for Hoover Wind Tunnel.

The belt and brush have nothing to do with the suction. The impeller on the motor creates negative pressure which results in a vacuum. ( or suction ) Many newer vacuums have as many as 4 filters. if any become completely clogged, the performance drops to nil. Start at the debris exit and work backwards. As a bagless, pulling the dirt canister out and removing the main filter is a good start. Most filters can be "tapped" clean and some are washable. after pulling out the filter, look where the passage way enters the filter chamber. Is it clogged? There is usually a secondary filter, which actually is set in a previous stage to the filter you just pulled out. Its main purpose if to catch hair, small nails, wire, and other material that could damage the more visible filter. If this filter is clogged then that will explain the loss of suction. Pull it out and clean it. An exhaust filter is located typically above the motor. Its purpose is to prevent fine particles from being blown about. It should be cleaned as well. With the filters clean and the hoses and passage ways clear, you should be good to go.
Good Luck!

There is a suction problem - the suction power is very low. The filter has been washed, dried and replaced but the problem is still there What is the problem? Thanks.

Something between the bag and the suction opening is clogging the vacuum. Start at the bag. Remove the bag and check for a clog. Remove the hose from the back and check for clog. Release the handle and turn the machine over to expose the sweeper bush. Check for clog. If you haven't found the clog at this point, remove the 4 screws on the brush cover. Then remove the brush and check the hose going into the machine. If the filters are clean the machine should have plenty of suction.

Weak suction on rainbow se vacuum

Check for clogs in the nozzle air passages (remove bottom plate)
Check for clogs in the wand
Check for clogs in the hose (trow in a pebble or a penny and see if it comes out the other end)
Make sure separator is clean.
Remove exhaust cap (sometimes there is a sponge in the cap that gets disty and does not let the air pass through).Have in mind that it will not pick up well if the suction and the belt is good but brush roll bristles are worn and too short.

Good Luck,
Rocky

Poor suction-need to know how to remove & clean filter under canister of Hoover Wind Tunnel Mach 4.7 Twin Chamber System.

I assume this is a Hoover Bagless, if poor suction, the hose or dirt inlet by the brush roll may have a clog. The filter inside the dirt container may need replacement. Some had a screw to take out to remove the cover for the filter, the one under where hte dirt container sits. Alos the belt may be stretch and won't turn the brush roll under load. Having the model number would help.

Filter Queen, carpet attachment problem???

Open it up and see if the dirt inlet is clogged. It would be by the brush roll. But you must have a clog.
