Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: I'm using a Yamaha FC7

you CANNOT do this connection!!! Period !!! It will not work electronically The keyboards are fighting eachother as each is driving audio into the WYE. If you want to control both levels you need to use a controller that has two separate controls. At one point such a device was made but not sure if they still are... Here is a candidate:

I want to add orchestral backing to song

Build the orchestral as a MIDI file and then merge your song and send back to the Tyros to perform it. Building on an external machine you will find is easier than trying to do it all on the Tyros.

In the Utilities screen there is the function that enables and disables as well as controls the polarity of the pedals. This is SEPARATE from the registration settings. The settings are in the "Controller" tab of the "Utility" menus.

When i plug it in to the sustain slot in my yamaha keyboard it makes the notes longer without me pressing the pedal.

You may have a pedal that is ROLAND compatible which is OPPOSITE sense from what the Yamaha requires. The Yamaha takes a NORMALLY OPEN contact.

Some Yamaha keyboards such as TYROS have a parameter that you can set to permit using either type pedal.

Some pedals have a switch to change them to use with either type keyboards.

When i press down on it it wont sustain but when i take me foot off the pedal it will sustain. fc5 yamaha

You may be trying to use this with a Roland synth... they require the OPPOSITE type switch.

If you have a Yamaha higher end product such as Tyros, there is a setup screen in the utility menus to set the polarity of the sustain and other inputs and that setting may be wrong.

This is not something that spare parts would likely be needed for.

The first thing to determine is if in the piano mode that the unit first comes up in do you get this problem. If you do not, the UNIT is likely OK electronically. If you DO get the problem as a plain piano at start up, then one or more disconnect diodes (small 1N4148) are probably shorted. This is VERY uncommon occurence. These diodes are on the contact boards of the keys themselves. Contamination of metal such as a paper clip or metal shard could cause the same thing.

The Tyros II has MANY features and a lot of these create layers that fire other notes when using styles as part of the stylle rhythm.

The keyboard split features that allow the keyboard to act as three seperate ones can lead one to think there is a problem.

I have two Tyros I and one Tyros II and have worked on all of them as they were purchased as damaged and non-functioning. I have schematics on CD and those are available from Yamaha America parts dept in California. They are copyrighted but they will sell you the CD with schematics, etc. for about $15.

I can help you troubleshoot the problem if it really is a problem. The first thing is to see if problem exists in the piano mode at startup. If it does, then try each note in combination to establish a pattern. If a disconnect diode is shorted, you will find certain notes interact. You need to find which are OK and which causes problems... Defining the keys as problems in chords does not help as we need key numbers such as C3 or F#4. Do the searches ONLY using two keys at a time as a matrix problem cannot be diagnosed doing three at a time or more.

I want to record vocal voice trhought mic on psr 9000

You could record short "samples" to be used in building new voices, however, it does NOT appear that you can record a vocal song with the PSR9000. The Tyros II and III have the capability to record vocals but the PSR9000 and Tyros I do not..

When playing back an arrangement, you can re-sing the song and have the vocal harmonizer track the arrangement.

How do i edit and store midi files on my tyros keyboard.

Storing is easy... editing is NOT so easy and is better done using a PC with an editing program.

Not knowing which model Tyros you have, either bring the MIDI files on floppy disk or USB stick.

Select the floppy or the USB source on the Tyros while in the song mode. Find and COPY a file or files, then move back to the place you want to store them like hardrive or user space and PASTE. You can create folders before each to keep the things seperate.

Not familiiar with the PSR 6700, HOWEVER on the Yamaha Tyros the keys stay with the baseplate part. Once the top cover is removed, there are screws holding the segments of keys. The keys on the Tyros are in segments. As I recall the black keys are in two individual sections.

There may be commonality between the synths.

The keys press on a sheet of silicon rubber domes that have conductive "pills" under them. The restoring force is actually from the dome itself. Two contacts per key! BE CAREFUL to align the silicon sheet when re-assembling.
