Question about GE DBXR463GB Gas Dryer

1 Answer

The dryer squeaks - noise is coming from left hand front of dryer. I've take the cover off, there is a plastic piece that if I press toward the front of the dryer stops the squeak. The heavier the load, the louder the squeak!

The squeak is actually the rear bearing WE3X75.
The dryer squeaks - noise is coming from left hand - 98fbf6b.jpegOddly enough although this might be your part you should use your model number to order the part. Different production runs I guess. Theis dude mounts in the rear
66ec823.jpgright in the center of the heater. This bearing gets real thin and when almost gone starts the squeal. You must remove the drum to get to the backside and replace that dude. I have a pictorial and more HERE.

SAMSUNG steam moisture sensor front load dryer has noises coming from it. Need help to pinpoint possible problems and how to fix.

You may have a roller out of alignment or off track with the drum now if you took the front panel off. Check to make sure the rollers are on track and the front slides may need t o be replaced if your dryer is a 2 roller model.

SQUEAKING NOSIES

if you are mechanicaly inclined it is not to difficult
can't tell by looking for noise - to confined of space
have to take the drum out first then get at the rollers one at a time
If one is noisy (just turn by hand and apply side pressure)
might as well replace both
if not rollers than look at the pressure idler that sits against the motor
and look at the plastic bushings that the drum travels on they are probably worn out
have fun

I have a ge profile 2006 front loader dryer that is making an awful squeaking noise!!

It will be your back bearing or front glider pads that are bad you will need a qualified service technician to come out to repair it unless its eating thru the metal on the inside then its not worth fixing sorry for the trouble and good luck. You can check the front pads by open the dryer door looking on the inside of the dryer towards the top front and see if it is resting on the plastic clip or metal that will tell you if its the fron or back.

Squeak coming from the rear center of the machine while running. Tempo of squeak is fast ... 4 per second. How do I get inside to tighten a belt or WD40 the drum wheel?

to remove the front panel, remove the four screw on the inside of the dryer, two on the left white plastic pieces, two on the right the door hinges, the hinges lift up and out once screws are removed, panel lifts off, you will see how the top is held down, two screws one on each side. Here is a web site that will help with the rest, Good Luck Tim

Intermittent Squeaking

You know how when the pads on your car get worn they start that noise? Well the bearing that holds the tub has a metal bracket. When that plastic wears down it begins to makes those noises. If left alone the metal bracket will eventually cuut into that drum bearing like a guillotine. I have pictures. Have the women and small babys leave the room: Click (HERE)

Detergent dispenser stuck

Had the same problem here today, the softener dispenser blue plastic piece was loose jamming the whole dispenser tray, to resolve remove top cover, two screws on top rear, slide the cover towards the back, you will then see the detergent dispenser, press the right clips and pull it off slightly at the back; do not put too much pressure and try to remove the cover completely, just pry the plastic cover a bit then pull the detergent tray it should come right out.

Loud Squeaking Noise kenmore gas dryer 80 series

You need to change your drum rollers. To get to them you take the dryer apart from the front not the back. There are 2 screws where the filter goes in on top. Then pull the top toward you and up. Then remove the 2 - 5/16 inch screws on each side of the front panel about 2 to 3 inches down. Then pull the front up and out. Then you will see everything. Replace the belt, drum rollers, and idler making sure to oil each as you re-install them. Then put back together and your on your way.

Loud noise

First, UNPLUG YOUR DRYER! Now open the dryer door and remove the 2 screws at the door hinges... remove the door and set aside, then remove the 2 screws opposite the hinges. Grasp the front panel near the top, just below the top panel and pull it toward you... do this on both sides. Tilt the panel forward then lift it off of the lower clips.

With the front panel gone, you'll see a 5/16" screw just below the top panel on both sides, top left and right. Remove these and the clips too... now you can lift the top panel like the hood of your car.

To gain further access, remove the 6 (3 on each side) screws holding the front drum support/blower vent panel, then set this aside.

If you want to remove the drum... first, take a flashlight and look closely at how the belt is routed around the idler pulley and the motor shaft. (You'll have to re-route it for reassembly.) Reach in there with both hands, with one hand rotate the spring loaded idler pulley back to release tension off the belt, then with the other hand remove the belt from the motor shaft. Now lift and pull the drum out the front of the cabinet.

Check to make sure the rollers in the back rotate freely. You can remove the rollers, buff the roller shafts with emery cloth, lube the shaft with light oil (like sewing machine oil) and reinstall the rollers. Lube the idler pulley also. Rotate the motor by hand and listen for the squeak you described.

Also check the front drum support panel you removed earlier. The drum rides on this as it rotates... As you are looking at the drum support from the drum side, inspect the 10 o'clock to the 2 o'clock area closely. If the glides (teflon) are worn it'll squeak when it rotates.

Hope this helps. Oh yeah! Almost forgot.... the belt won't squeak at all. It'll be the motor, rollers or drum glides.
