Question about Kitchen Ranges

2 Answers

I have a Valliant 828E ecomax bolier. I've had it for three years and it has been perfect. The only slight issue is that, perhaps once a year, I need to refill it by opening the taps at the bottom. I did this yesterday, and now the boiler is dripping (mainly down the left hand side as you look at it, the opposite side from the taps). The boiler maintains the pressure I increased it to (I don't think I did it too much - it's nowhere near the maximum) and when I switch the mains off the dripping stops. I'm guessing that the connection from the mains water to the bolier is loose, and I loosend it when opening the taps (one of them was very stiff). My question is, what is the probable problem and is it possible to fix it yourself or do I need a professional?

Hi - I've just refilled my Valliant boiler using the two taps at the bottom of the bolier. Now there is a drip coming from somewhere - but it's definitely something to do with the mains - as the boiler maintains pressure and the drip stops when I turn the mains off. I'm suspicious because it's only started happening since I refilled it. The drip doesn't seem to be coming from the taps but higher up.

How would I trace the leak and is it something I could fix myself having had little experience repairing boliers?

The issue here is allowing a boiler to drain/refill what has happends in there is a little piston on the relief valves (hope where on the same page) When these become loose you got the leak at the mains.

Quality repair? YES

Do it yourself? Depends on your experience?

I would:

1. investigate the leak
2. trace the leak

What you can do if its a leak at the means is refit the inlet or you might need to buy a new piston @ the releif valve, I am not there so it hard to make a educated quess on where exactly you have your leak not everyones left hand side is invident on location of where the leak is coming from. If I saw where the leak was I can give a better more in depth answer to your question and possiably help fix the leak.

My answr/advice would be at the mains.

Thanks for your question I hope this does help please do click the accept button for mt efforts.

Yes I have installed a boiler before! Done it a few times..

If its comming from the tope i would have the mains investgated not something you can do yourself if the issue is not comming from the taps.

I feel i more then tryed to help you here I love answering questions but this is something complex where the leak will need to be found ultimatly i would not expect you to expect me to locate the leak via email?

But the mains is where the issue is at

Here is a web blog about this problem, but this one elevated into a large leak. It's to do with the way the connections use clips, and this fellow that wrote the article thinks it's a design issue. Here's the blog:
http://www.diybanter.com/uk-diy/5093-warning-vaillant-ecomax-6-8-series-boiler-owners.html
I couldn't find any reports on exactly how they repaired the problems, so I think they just reseated the clamps, and so getting to them will require some disassembly.
Take your time to figure it out...everything that went together usually comes apart by undoing the fasteners. Keep track of which screws go where, in case they have more than one size.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

check the battery if you've had the phone a year chances are the battery is defective, cell phone battries usually last only 200-300 charging cycles have it tested by a battery dealer or just replace it once you get it to turn on make sure your charging port is charging the phone

I HAVE A 2008 KINGPIN AND IT EATS BATTERIES. A NEW ONE EVERY YEAR. IS THIS NORMAL. ALSO THE BATTERIES ARE REALLY EXPENSIVE. WHAT TYPE OF BATTERY DO YOU RECOMMEND.

Make sure your battery spec is 12V/18 amp hours. If you can fit a slightly higher amperage battery into the space, then the longer the battery should last. The Kingpin can charge 38Amps maximum.

You could also change the brand of battery IF you have bought the same over the last two/three years. Some batteries are inferior to heavy starts, even though they look fine.

Starting a 1634cc engine cold takes a lot of current. Each start, damages the battery ever so slightly, ending up in failure. Also check that there isn't any heating issues between engine/exhaust and battery case. Hot batteries die fast!

If your monitor is crackling and fizzing, that is not a fuse issue, unless the fuse you have installed is underrated. It sounds like you have a bad driver/woofer, and need to get it replaced. CLICK HERE FOR THE REPLACEMENT DRIVER for this model.
