My computer won't start. Power supply (ttgi 450ss) has a blinking green light and the power supply fan starts when plugged in. Motherboard (asus m2npv-vm) has a green light illuminated between the pci...

See if you plugged in the 4 pin power connector on the motherboard besides the main power connection on the power supply (usually black colored and its a plastic 4 pin connector)

Try another power supply if all else fails. If new power supply does not work with this unit then its a motherboard which is blown and motherboard needs replacing.

Hope this helps

Power switch light is on but no other poweris getting through, changed the power supply but same problem. light comes on power button but power supply fan doesn't even come on.

No beeps are heard, no CPU fan is turning on, only blinking yellow light. This brand usually experiences this problem.
  1. First, check the power supply. Disconnect connectors from the board and make a jumper wire for the green wire to any black wire. If the PS fan does not spin then it's busted, else proceed below.
  2. Reconnect connectors except the one with 4 wires, 2 yellow and 2 black, then switch on. If CPU fan turns on then you have a bad processor.
  3. If the fan is still not turning on then check the USB port pins for short circuit.. disconnect it from the board and switch on.
  4. Do the same with other hardware connected to the board.
PS: The metallic casing of computers must be connected to the common ground of the power utility to protect it from stray currents that result to damage of sensitive components such as processors, memory and hard disks.

ATX Bestec 1956F Power Supply Failure

sounds like your power supplie has not been switched on by *********** board.the fan will not turn on until power supplie is turned on by mb.as far as what is wrong there are several things i can think of.i would try resetting bios. It sounds like your power supplie is working and your motherboard could have a short.but i have no way to be sure without testing. I can however tell you how to perform a test on your power supplie.unplug the 20 or 24 pin connector from your mb. look for a green wire, and then locate the grey one.short these two together(you can use a paper clip or something).if it dosnt power up. your power supplie is bad.also do not short any other wires, and only touch the grey and green for a few seconds as this is not how it was intended to be powered on.

Pover up trouble

sounds like something is drawing down on your 12 volt supply drives or on board regulators. Try it without the drives connectged, and see if you can get the system to boot up(you'll just get a notice that your drives are unavailable, but you'll already know that, right?

Ensure that you got the cpu fan connected to the correct place, the board has 2 one for the cpu fan andt the other for a system controlled case fan.

If that dont work check to see you got the power supply connected to the board propperly, there is a seperate 4 pin connector using 2 yellow and 2 black wires ensure it is correct.

Check your power supply

unplug the power supply and bridge the green wire with the black one next to it to see if it comes on. OR JUST CHANGE THE POWER SUPPLY TO SEE IF IT WORKS.

YOUR PROBLEM IS A POWER PROBLEM EIGHTER FROM A BAD CONNECTION OR A WRONG HOOK UP AND IF NOT THAT A BAD POWER SUPPLY
