How do i make my PDF scan document small enough to email

This is a problem with most of these Fax Scanner Printers. You will always end up with a large file, like 10 mb for a simple file. I think no matter what you do with the scan, it is large.
Turn the color off and make it gray scale or black and white.
The best way that I have found it to work the best is a work around. Find a free fax service or one that is a few dollars a month. Hopefully you have a fax component on this and you can fax documents to the online service, it will turn that fax into a very nice PDF. You then configure the online fax service to email the to you. Now you can save for your records, rename it and email it to whomever you need.

How to remove an antivirus known as RECYCLER from the pen drive or memory card??

RECYCLER is a virus in which all the data is reduced to the size of megabytes(MB) even if the original data may be of gigabytes(GB). The various files and folders present in the pen drive/memory card appears as hidden folders and there size is greatly reduced..This problem make us feel that the whole data is lost..but this is not so...We can solve this problem by connecting the memory card with the computer and scanning the memory card using AVAST antivirus..then all the data can be copied in the computer..and then the memory card is scanned using AVAST and then formatted..and finally the data can be copied into the memory card again..

Scans are more than 6 MB and I need no more than 4MB how can I reduce the size?

In the HP Solutions software you will find the scanning resolution settings. Lower the resolution and the file size will reduce. This is done at the cost of the quality of the scan however.

Hp laserjet 3055 scans larger than print area

When you place a document for scan, you must select the portion you want to be scanned.

You must also set the resolution which is set to 300 by default, if you want a actual size then set the resolution to 75, which is 3% larger then actual image.

It will reduce size in KB or MB of your image and it will be exact size.

Similarly, when you want to print, you must select option "Exact Fit" and print your document.

Everything will be normal.

Cheers

How to scan a document where it doesn't take so much space? When I scan a contract of 8 pages it is like 13MB. I need it to be smaller like in KB.

Hello,

One of the main ways to reduce document size is to consider what format you are saving them as.

I just did a sample scan and the following are the results of different formats:

.png - 88 KB
.gif - 108 KB
.bmp - 192 KB
.tif - 196 KB
.jpg - 1.14 MB

As you can see the JPG file is over 10 times larger than the PNG file.

Also make sure that you do not scan as a color scan if it is not needed. The above scans were all scanned in black & white.

I hope this has helped you. Thanks for using Fixya.

Scanned doucment at 75 is still too large - file is over 1MB

Hi,
Check for the Save Options in scanner settings. If it is in .GIF or .TIFF format the file size obviously increases.  If you change it to .JPEG format it reduces to around 900kb.

I have a FIC VA 503+ motherboard in one of my computers. It has a 300 MHRZ AMD K6-2 processor in it right now. I would like to know the jumper settings for a 550 MHRZ processor. I would like to give this...

Posting pics on here is difficult. Fixya reduces them down so you can hardly see to read, so let me try to tell you.

CLK to 100 Mhz
CLK1-Pins 1 and 2
CLK2-Pins 1 and 2
CLK3-Pins 2 and 3

Multiplier to 5.5
FREQ1-Pins 1 and 2
FREQ2-Pins 1 and 2
FREQ3-Pins 2 and 3

Don't forget the CPU voltage jumper. If you comment back with the voltage I can tell you that also.

If you would prefer, I can email you scans of the pages you need. (I already scanned them. It's just that posting them reduces them too much to see clearly.)

BTW that was a good MB in its time. I had 2 of them. Still have one using a 500MHZ AMD running Windows XP Pro. It's a little slow though. :-)
