There is little we can do in this case. however I recommend you try one of these:

1. download CD recovery software like CDCheck and try to recover the CD (link here) http://www.softwarepatch.com/software/cdrecovery-security.html

2. ask for a new set of rec CD from manf.

3. use the old-school method to format and reinstall OS and drivers

How to fix system 32 problem when the original installation disc is not available

Easy. Just contact HP Support.

In the USA the disk is free. The shipping and handling is not.
$17 for a 5 to 7 day ship, $24 for a 2 to 3 day ship.
Call 1-800-474-6836
24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Have your Serial Number handy to give to the nice representative.
On the back of your computer is a white Service Tag.
S/N = Serial Number

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html

You want the Restoration Disk.

For other countries use HP Support Worldwide,

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

After you have put the disk in your optical drive, and when asked, choose Repair. (Non-Destructive Installation)
This will repair the basic Windows files. (System 32 )

HOW CAN I RESET THE HP OMNI 100 BACK TO ITS FACTORY SETTINGS

You will have to get a factory restore disk and if you already have one place in the DVD or CD tray and start the computer follow the on screen instructions to restore the computer back to its original condition. Some PC's have a separate restore partition on the C:\ drive you can go to my computer and tick to open go to C:\ and see if there is a partition for this. It should say recovery or restore. If you do not have this option you may order one from the factory or go to their web site and download a copy of the original software. NOTE: people when you buy a computer and have this option to download restore disk by all means do so right away. Also store you factory disks where you will find them if ever needed.

Computer won't turn on it say's \WINDOWS\system32\config\SYSTEM---Windows could not start because the following is missing or corrupt: You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using...

Borrow that CD-ROM from any friend who does have one -- you don't need to have your "original" disk.

Or, telephone eMachines, and order a replacement set of "System Restore" disks.
Probably $20, plus $20 for overnight-courier shipping.

I need to restore my computer but I did not download the recovery program on a disc. Is there a way of recovering the program without the recovery discs

If there is a D partition on your device, you can restore the computer to its original condition by invoking the Recover option. Click Start, all programs, search, type in Recover and follow the directions.

I want to restore my pc to its factory settings

Take the original "System Restore" set of CD/DVD disks that were shipped with your computer, and reinstall Windows.

Some brand-name manufacturers (Dell, IBM, HP, COMPAQ) will accept telephone-orders for that set of disks, to match the disks that originally were shipped with the computer.

Computer randomly shuts down. Cleared everything we want to save off computer. Looking to bring Windows XP back to original state. We did not get a start up disk with this computer. What can I do?

Go online to the website for your computer. On this page look for -> Support
Click on Support. There should be a -> Contact Us.
(For HP it's Contact HP in the upper left corner of the Support page)

I would use their toll free phone number, and call them. Tell them you need the Restoration Disk. They may have a different name for it, but will know what you're talking about. Have it mailed to you. I suggest DO NOT download it! You may need this disk in the future.

I did the above for a Compaq computer. Compaq is owned now by HP. The disk was free. The Shipping and Handling was not. (Neither is the download)
$17 for a 5 to 7 day ship, $22 for a 2 to 3 day ship.

Factory setting restore

If you have a Cd Rom called a Recovery Disk that usually comes with the computer. You can reformat the computer to it's original configurations. You will lose all data. It will be as if you took it right out of the box. Or on some computers you can do a Recovery only withour reformatting the PC. you will have to reinstall all updates , programs, etc. you turn off the computer and install the disc then you restart the computer. The disk will give you the option to Recover Only or Recover and Format.
