Even when I hold the shutter-button half way and then let it do its thing - it is blurry.
Sometimes I even get a blank screen that says, "Capturing... Processing..." even in plenty of light and with the flash.

I've had the same problem with cyber-shot dsc-s500. it had problems focusing. even more in the dark. what's more is that pictures were low on colors. an example of this is when i took the flashram to the drug store to print out the shot. they looked like 16 color gif's! i sent the unit back to sony (under warranty at the time) and i sent the pics along with it and all i got was "there's nothing wrong with this camera, everythings fine". i even explained how to duplicate the problem and kept getting the same answer. :( sony was no help at all. i solved the problem myself and purchased a canon as1000is. beautiful and emaculant shots!! i've been a sony fan for many many years and never got such crappy help. a mistake i'm sure not to make again.

The auto focus on my Sony Cybershot DSC-W35 is working i guess because the most shots that i take come out blurred... Can anyone help me with a quick solution because i need my cam urgently!!

THE TROUBLE WITH AUTO FOCUS ... is that it doesn't work well under the following conditions:
  • When the subject is not in the centre of the picture (particularly when there are moving objects in the background)
  • In low light conditions
  • If there is a bright light behind the subject (e.g. a window)
  • When the subject is bright (e.g. a car with its head lamps on)
  • When the subject is of low contrast - walls, the sky
  • If the subject is made up of fine repetitive patterns
  • If the subject is behind vertical bars or a chain link fence
  • When another subject passes between the camera and the point of interest

Camera does not focus properly in Screen Mode.

Make sure you are not trying to take pictures through glass windows as they may affect the auto focus. Good Luck!

Wont zoom in or out message reads turn the power off and on again can access stored pics but wont take new ones sony cybershot dsc w35

Is this camera only have a digital zoom? If it has an optical zoom as well, you could have a setting that is set to ignore digital zoom and because your lighting conditions, zooming in and out is not currently possible because the aperture can not be opened enough to light you take a picture without being blurry. The auto focus would be taking priority in stopping you from taking a picture.
Just a hunch.

I have a sony cybershot camera, when turning it on it says 'access' and then goes to a blurred focus and has flashing: E:61:00. I have tried resetting and no joy!

it seems it's a auto-focus mechanism issue. i dropped mine on the ground, got the same error, and found some blog mentioning knocking the camera against a hard surface a couple of times. worked for me!! amazing.

Cybershot H7 focus problem

Things to check before you assume it is a mechanical issue-you can get vibration message if flash is disabled, be sure also that the macro mode is not enabled-this is very common on sony cameras to turn on by accident-flower button on camera will put in close up mode and you will get blur make sure no flower is present on lcd screen-if in macro press button on camera w/flower to turn off-also in menu you have continuous and monitor auto focus settings try changing one or the other and see what happens

Sony Cybershot

it gives you the options of auto, scene, program, and movie. if you are using program, then you can choose the ISO, i believe ISO 400 is the the highest it will go, and the higher the ISO the fuzzier the picture looks. higher ISO works best at night. try changing it to auto.
