Look for a tiny switch on the side of the SD card. If it is in the "locked" position you cannot write to the card and it will cause this error. Switch to the "unlocked" position and you should be fine.

Card locked appears on screen

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Camera reads card lock when trying to take a photo

Since you neglected to specify the make and model of your camera, I'm going to assume it uses SD/SDHC cards.

I cant take photos anymore and the LCD screen says CARD'S WRITE PROTECT SWITCH IS SET TO LOCK.How can i solve this problem?

You didn't specify the make and model of your camera, so I'm going to assume it uses SD and/or SDHC cards.
SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
If this doesn't do it, try another card.

Can't help with the camera- sounds like it has a fault.

The photos, however, should be recoverable by putting the memory card into a card reader on a computer.

I am unable to take photos with my samsung digimax s800 camera as the message 'CARD LOCKED' keeps coming up on screen. I have deleted loads of photos so the memory card is definitely not full. Any ideas?

Hi, I can view photos I have taken but can no longer take photos because of a 'card is locked' problem message that appears on the screen. How do I unlock the card? The camera in question is the Casio...

there is a locking mechanism on the side of the card, shift it down or up to unlock mode. Your card can also be full and you may need to download some photos and remove them from the card so that you may be able to reuse the card. Otherwise buy a new card

Casio exilim 8.1 card is locked

Hi!

Can you check if there is a small push button on the memory card itself? It could that it is currently on write-protect mode.

Camera is not taking out no pictures on display screen marks memory card locked

It sounds like the memory card has its little locking switch in the locked position. Take the card out of the camera and move the small switch on the side of the card to the opposite position. Re-install and you should be good to go.

Cant take photos and the LCD screen says "Memory card is locked. Slide lock to 'write' position"

I don't own this camera but My guess is your memory card is in a LOCK SETTING you need to move the memory card to unlocked " wrirte " so you memory card isn't locked.....
Step 1 remove the card from you're camera
Step 2 there is a small little side on the side of the memory chip move that to the unlock position.
step 3 insert the card and start shooting!
