This problems very common in Sharp LCD tvs.The Tuner signal board have problems,every times the power LED,OPC LED lites up,just push the power button on again,wait see if the LCD backlight lite up and works,not the Power lite and the OPC lite LEDS flashes again.You,just have to push the power button again,sometimes u have to push the power button at least 6 or 7 times to get the Power LED stable,and then LCD backlight,come on than the tv work.Not sure,but if the Power and OPC lites keep flashing,after u pushes the power button at lest 10 or 12 times,and the LCD backlight dosen't come on and the tv don't work.I think,it time to change the Tuner board is completely dead.I have a Sharp LCD tv, I do this everytimes pushing the power button at least 3 or 4 than the power LED stable,and the LCD backlight come on than the tv work.Not a plaw in the power supply like those capacitors in many LCD models tvs,but some included Sharp Tvs is the Tuner signal board is not very good in design,use the tv awhile the Tuner signal board have problems recieving the power to it Tuner board components.
The blinking green lite that wont go off wont allow the tv to come on. We tried resetting the tv it doesn't work Also the tv has been off for days have to unplug from wall for couple days then replug and reset. It still doesn't work. Please help.
it sounds like youre describing a RCA HDTV which needs the CP150, CP120 and CP114 repair kit. You can get that repair kit at www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the capacitors and the CD with instructions.
Take the back off of the TV and look at the power supply board (middle of the set). One or more electrolitic capacitors will have the tops swelled up. Replace them with the same value parts and you will be OK.
Combo's, Screen will say VCR Lock Activated. During stop or power off, hold the stop/eject button on the unit for at least seven seconds.
