Check if you have UNNAMED in your contacts. Delete this.
This what happened with my phone. For some strange reasons, I had multiple UNNAMED under my contacts with corresponding numbers. This prevents me seeing the display name of my saved contact.

Good luck!

Nokia e7 caller display not working

is the caller number display or nothing at all?

if the caller number is displayed, check you contact, might have enter same caller number even if different names.

if not,try to reset your phone,go to settings and restore factory default or just type *#7780# for soft reset (nothing will be erase and back to default) or *#7370# for fukk format or hard reset (this will erase all of your data stored,be sure to back up important data defore proceeding)

Caller name will not display when they call. there names are in my contact list

Hi,

This is why your caller's name won't display when they call in. You basically have the names stored twice in your phone, one on your memory stick and the other on your phone. For you to sure of this; get a number and store it on the sim and store it the second time on the phone. Call in and you would notice that the callers name won't show.

Back up the contacts via the Nokia PC suite, delete and re-save on the phone. This would solve the problem.

Callers' name doesn't show even though i have them in my contacts

Hi,

Solution 1

Some caller's names does not appear even though they are on your contact list because you have then copied twice on your phone. What you'll need do it to delete one contact each for the caller id's that don't show when they call in. Once you get this done, your phone phone would begin to show contacts on your phone.

If you want to know if this true, then get someone around you and save his/her name twice then ask him/her to call you. You'll notice that the caller id would not appear, but once you get one of the contacts deleted and ask him/her to call you back, you'll discover that the caller's id would begin to show.

Solution 2

For your access point, just define it the next time you switch on your phone and save it. Then it would not have to change the next time you turn your phone on/off.

Solution 3

To get rid of the welcome go to Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalization >

You can set it from here.

Hope this helped.

My wife has a Nokia 6650 and when people call the number is displayed but he name won't she is getting very upset and the book sucks.

Caller ID works by displaying the caller infomation that is sent. When you receive the caller ID, it first tries to pair it up with a name in the address book, and if nothing is found, it just displays the number.
If you want the contact's name to show, then you must save it exactly as the caller ID displays it. Most often, only 7 digits are put in, when it needs to be the full 10 digits.

Caller id

Save your contacts to the phone. Personalized caller ID only works from the phone, not the sim. Go to contacts then press the contact name once to select it.  Press the menu button (bottom left) on phone and scroll to 'copy to phone'.  You should see the caller name when they ring then.
(I bought a sim back-up device so that I can keep the sim clear. If caller information is on both the phone and sim it gets listed twice in your contacts).
