SOURCE: I recently bought a powered

Hi John,

If you would pls have a look at the blown glass fuse:
1. if there are scorching/burnt/dark marks on the glass housing, then it is most likely that there is a major electronic failure;
2. if the cut of the fuse wire is clean, then chances are the problem is only slight. In some instances, it is also possible that the glass fuse you used is a fastblow whereas the ceramic was possibly slowblow. As the name implies, their reaction time differs.

Additionally, if you were able to use the unit for some time before the fuse blew, it is possible that the unit was driven a tad hard causing the amps to draw higher current from the power supply thereby causing the blown fuse.

If the incident happened right after powering it up for the first time and you were not able to use it even for a while, another possibility to consider is that the unit's input voltage setting is not in accordance with what locally is available in your current location (110/220).

Other than replacing the fuse, I wouldnt recommend doing anything else as the warranty may be void. Having said that, your best bet may then be to contact the dealer and ask for a replacement or repair service.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: keeps blowing fuses interanlly, any ideas why

Hello, the problem of the continuos blowing of fuse internally is as a result of a defected component on the pcb board of the recevier . you can do this by removing the cover of the recevier and check for the power transistor , power capacitor, if is defected with the use of a multimeter, replace for a new one of the same number

SOURCE: my fuses keep blowing in

Fuses usually blow for a good reason - because something else is wrong.
A fuse may go once if it is just a bit old but if changing a fuse twice has not solved the problem then there is some sort of electrical fault that you need to trace. It could be

  • a short circuit - maybe a crack in the insulation in the cable somewhere - most likely point is where the cable enters or exits the power supply and is subject to a lot of flexing or where it joins the coil windings inside the transformer.
  • too much equipment connected to the power supply overloading it
  • an open circuit or failed component causing- too low a resistance allowing too much current to flow
  • a cable or component somewhere in the power supply that has too high a resistance for the current to flow causing a build up of heat at the weakest point - the fuse.
Unless the fault is something obvious like a broken wire it may just be a case of replacing the power supply

My EP2500 keeps on blowing a fuse on the right channel and I opened it and realised that the two horizontal caps are a bit bigger.

They wouldn't blow the fuse. You are looking at the main devices that power the channel. If you put an ohmmeter on their terminals (assuming they are transistors) then it will show like you have touched the two test probes together. If it does replace the part(s).

PMP Mixers hazard

When using Speakon adapter cables with 1/4 inch plugs, the sleeve of channel A is the hot and not the tip of the plug. Inadvertent shorting of this to ground can blow that channel of the amp.

Behringer Europower PMP2000 Fuse keeps blowing when the amp is switched on.

For goodness sakes do NOT replace the fuse... doing so causes more damage inside. Likely one of the power amps has shorted and may have damaged the power supply as well. Also please read my tip on Fixya regarding a HAZARD with channel A if you use 1/4 inch plugs with the speaker cables. Essentially the sleeve of the channel A plug is the hot, and not the tip. Ground the sleeve of the plug and you can blow the channel A amp. YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE THE UNIT IN FOR REPAIR... THIS IS NOT A DIY REPAIR!!!!

My europower pmp 2000 powered mixer wont turn on and the fuse appears good. I turned it on and it immediately turned off ,nothing smells burnt. any ideas on what it could be

This is likely a power supply failure, possibly brought on by a failure of one of the amp channels.

This is probably close to your supply:

Scroll down to "get manual" and click on that to download schematic. Ignore other download links.

I have a Behringer EP2000 amplifier and only one of the amplifier channels blows a fuse everytime it is turned on. What could be the problem?

A fuse blows like that because of an overload. Nine times out of 10 it will a transistor that is acting like a piece of wire. If you have a Ohm meter try the output devices. You will soon find the faulty part as it will be like you have touched the test probes together!

Not working

If it is brand new, it is likely "pilot error" as setting these up if you are unfamiliar with mixers can be frustrating.

There are several things that must be done to have a working system. Correct speaker cables are one and the setting of all the knobs are important...

DO NOT REPLACE FUSE. If any LED's are on, fuse is OK. If fuse blows, service the unit before replacing fuse to avoid further internal damage.

Make sure speaker cables are good.

Set the level control for the channel you are testing up AND you may need to press the "PAD" button to change the input gain. Turn up the master gain.

Depending on the source you are using, line or mic you may need to change the PAD button.

NOTE: This mixer does NOT have Phantom power and cannot be used with CONDENSER microphones requiring phantom power. You will get no audio from a condenser mic without phantom power. You must use dynamic mics with this mixer.

Europower Beringer PMH3000 power turns on then turn off?

when you turn on the AMP and the red light comes on give the amp 2 seconds and turn it back on the red light should turn off. That is what I do with the amps at my church and it works for me, I hope that this works for you too.
