Question about Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
How is the belt changed on the Dyson DC07? I don't have to change it yet, but I'm sure the time will come when that will be necessary. I clean whatever areas I can easily get to on the vacuum cleaner frequently, but fortunately have never had anything break down on it yet. I've had it for several years (at least five), and it's the best vacuum cleaner I've ever owned. There must be some easy solution to changing the drive belt. Seems that when I remove the beater cover, I can remove only one side of the beater easily, but not the side that the drive belt goes around. What's the secret to easily remove the beater bar and access the drive gear inside the plastic motor housing? Even if I don't ever have to replace the drive belt, I'd like to be able to remove it so that I can perform additional cleaning inside the motor housing area. Thanks!
The other end of the drive belt the part you cant see goes to a clutch.
The clutch unit has 2 belts one is clutch to motor the second is clutch to brush roller.
You obviously look after your machine because you say you have had no problems with belts or clutch for 5 years.
Both belts & clutch can be worked on but its alot to explain so look at this site for service manuals.

Fiddley yes, but i found that undoing the three screws yep, then ease out both ends of the roller first, then helped with a screwdriver to keep the belt in place i slowly struggled to ease out the old roller. then managed to stretch the belt back over the end and gradually got the new brush back into place. just have to be careful not to push the screwdriver into the belt and damage it. other than that, i couldnt see any other way of changing the brush assembly or accessing the belt partitions.

You dont replace the belt you must replace the clutch assembly. It is somewhat difficult and should be done by a authorized service shop. If you can get the part i would be more than happy to explain it to you in a chat session.
