Question about Garmin StreetPilot c530 GPS Receiver

Maps are missing

I put a picture onto my Garmin Streetpilot c530 and now when I turn it on, it says, "No detailed maps found that support routing. The Streetpilot cannot be used without them." Is there anyway to get the latest version of the maps back on my unit??

    My c530 says the same thing... Do I have to get the 25 digit code from Garmin? Of course, I don't have the yellow coupon anymore that had the code on it originally ! thanks !

    my streetpilot suddenly told me that it needs a map to function. Worked perfectly yesterday !?

    Any help will be greatly apprecieated as I get lost in my own back yard :)

    i bought an sd card and when i start updating it also say the same thing.... what should we do???

Same here..the phone support sucks.. i am on hold right now for 20 mins and i am not sure if they have an answer!!

Comes up "No detailed maps


I had the same model of Garmin that you currently have now. I would only get that message when the maps were not current. You can go to Garmins website and they will sell you the current CD with all of the current maps for your area. You install the CD on your computer and then connect your Garmin with a USB cable to your computer and it will then download the latest maps on to your Garmin unit. Garmin updates their maps once or twice a year I think. Go to www.Garmin.com to see the pricing for the current CD for your area.

Was using it and went crazy and now it says no detailed maps found that support routing. the streetpilot cannot be used without them what do i doo


There's a solution to this problem for garmin nuvi satnavs at http://www.fixya.com/support/r6197735-no_detailed_maps_found_support_routing
While your satnav is not a nuvi I would imagine that the same solution should work for it since they're both made by garmin.

You're unit is probably missing the gmapprom.img file (failed update maybe?).

Try contacting Garmin - if you've got registered maps they may send you another copy (although big file - 100+MB)

While traveling to Nova Scotia last week, my Garmin Street Pilot c530 was telling that i was on an unpaved road, but i was on route 2 in New brunswick Canada


Don't believe everything you see on a GPS. Garmin does not update their maps as they should; I found this even after I purchased their map update. I drove 48 states in a big rig, over many new roads not found or shown on the Garmin maps. My streetpilot usually went into a hiccup mode, recalculating -- recalculating -- recalculating. All the while, it tried to get me to detour on whatever spurious local roads happened to show up along the way.

Error message on screen (read message below)


Did you tried to update your Maps? There are two maps inside your Garmin. Basemap which covers all highways and major roads and mapsource source which cover regular streets. Try reloading mapsource maps.

From the "Where to" menu select the little wrench and then select map and then select Map info. What does it say for Map Info?

If the unit is still under warranty, call Garmin and get a RMA. Return the unit to Garmin.
