Question about Matsonic MS9158EP (DSMTSMS9158EP) Motherboard
Look in the manual of your specific motherboard for password-clearing instructions. Familiarize yourself with the location of the password-clear jumper. Each motherboard manufacturer places this unmarked jumper in a different spot for security purposes.
Locate the password-clear jumper on the motherboard. Use the needle-nose pliers to move the jumper to the password-clear setting that was specified in your motherboard manual.
Place the password jumper back to its original position (if specified in your motherboard manual).
Reconnect the cables to your computer.
Power on your computer to verify that the password has been cleared.
If this did not reset your password or you do not have the motherboard manual to determine the proper jumper, you can clear the password by removing the BIOS battery for one minute. Please note that this will erase all of your BIOS settings and you will have to re-enter them in the BIOS, so use this as a last resort.
Close the case on your computer after the password has been reset.
To keep your motherboard passwords from being erased by unauthorized users, prevent access to the inside of your computer by using locks or other entry deterrents.
Some motherboards have a jumper setting to disable passwords instead of clearing them. These motherboards will not require the jumper to be moved twice. To totally clear the passwords on these motherboards, you will enter the BIOS after disabling the passwords to clear them. See your motherboard manual for more information.
If you are in a high-static area such as a carpeted room in winter, move the computer to an area with a lower static concentration before opening the case. Spraying carpets with an antistatic spray will also help to prevent static damage to your computer.
Use caution while moving the jumpers. A bent or broken pin could require replacing the entire motherboard.
