SOURCE: how to open canon ip1900 coverings

Remove the paper and cartridges.

With the printer facing you, open the cover and remove the 2 screws you can see extreme left and right. These are the only screws needed to remove the covers.

Now turn the printer upside down and look for 2 arrows on the left and right side of the printer. Stil a screwdriver up where they point to to undo the catches. Now shove the two side panels backwards from the printer.

To release the remaining top panel and lid, pull it off its plastic catches.

When you do a WiFi setup of a printer from the ADD PRINTER option; the IP address is automatically located. You do not have to find one. For safe keeping, when you locate the IP address, write time down or do a printout in the event you need that for future use.

I got an error with my canon ip1900 it says "paper jammed" i press Resume but nothings happen it's just repeating the error "paper jammed" what i need to do?

You need to open the printer and remove any piece of paper no matter how small. This can be causeed by even a small sliver of paper or even paper dust. It can also be the paper sensor but thats very uncommon.

Take the paper out fan and restack it. Then open up the printer and clean it as best you can. Put everything back in and close it up and you should be printing.

Hi You can download a driver from my website then you can use the driver to set your printer up.
Just click on this link and it will download for you, and it best to save it on your desktop so you can find it.
This is for the canon ip1900 But I think it works for the ip1980 aswell try it got nothing to loss and if it do work please let me know thanks

Ones you have downloaded just click on the icon it should open up into a folder called canon-ip1900 click on this folder to open it then you see another folder open this other folder then you will see 3 folders click on the one that says DrvSetup in this folder you see the setup.exe just click and it will take you through the installing
Make sure all your printer leads are in to you pc.

My canon ip1900 printer does not print even though it sounds like it

Your printer cartridges have likely dried up. You can try removing the print cartridges from the printer and pressing the print head (the bottom where ink comes out) into a moistened paper towel. This will hopefully rehydrate the dried ink in the print nozzle. Ink will likely transfer onto and through the paper towel, so please take precautions to not soil anything.

If this does not work you will likely need new printer cartridges. Refills can be used with decent success for the black but the machine will likely refuse a refilled color. Unfortunately this is how Canon has designed the machine. An original should be used in this instance.

My Canon MF6530 keeps flashing "clean platen glass" even though I've cleaned it several times. How do I correct?

You have to take out the glass platten, clean it on both sides.

Then clean the top of the contact sensor (scanner) lightly with alcohol.

Good luck

I have a Canon PIXMA iP3000 printer, I have cleaned the color heads several times, but I still get lines across the paper when I print

It sounds like you need to run printhead alignment.

Though I cant find a manual to tell you how to do it sorry.

Print head alignment problem again

Reviewed the previews posts you made and the alignment has been performed several times. This is already a mechanical issue in the printer.

This can be fixed however by sending it to a service center if it's out of warranty and we all know that it will cost you more than having a new one.
