As per original notes: Camrea LCD is cracked, I

A cheapest way to get a replacement LCD is to buy another used camera through ebay. Look for one sold for parts, but with good lCD. Open the camera.s is easily done by removing 5-6 screws. Once the cover is removed, LCD is directly accessible. A good tutorial available in:

I imagine the only way to obtain a proper part is to send it to an approved Olympus service centre, hopefully under warranty (though I expect they would not regard this as covered).

The camera must have some way of telling that the door is open. Is there a tiny switch on the catch, or behind a little hole that something on the lid poked through? If so, perhaps you could jam it. Maybe there is a reed switch that was activated by a magnet in the lid.

I don't really see why this should be an issue for the camera to worry about, as long as things aren't falling out. My high-end Lumix pays no attention to hatches being open.

How to take night photgraphs on canon a720is?

Hello cpuparker

First of all you'll need a tripod. This can be any type from large to small. On the camrea two settings are necessary:
  • use the selftimer
  • set the camrea mode to Tv, choose a time around 10 seconds
Now take the photo. Check the result and adjust if necessary the shutter speed.

Have Fun

When you open the cover the system does not switch mode to programming

There is a switch that is activated when the front cover is folded down. It sound like that switch is stuck. Figure out what the trigger mechanism is and see if you can "unstick" it. If not you will probably need to replace the motherboard.

Synchronizing two sb-800s with a nikon d300

You knoq the SB-800 has a slave mode called SU-4 in the menu. It activates remote flash. When your on camera flash fires so will the slave flash. The slave flash will need to be able to "see" the light from the on-camrea flash to work.

To access the SU-4 remote mode hold the "SEL" button in for a few seconds until the menu appears. Scroll down to the SU-4 setting and turn it on.

When using this method set the flash to manual and set the power as needed.

Regards.

My camrea

It may be that you are already using a drive that the camera is trying to open on, like if you are on a shared drive, most likely E or F. You should disconnect from whatever is occupying that space and the camera will apear when turned on.

hope this helps!
