Question about Toshiba PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have a Toshiba L35 S2161 Laptop. My curser jumps all over the place while I am typing. It takes a long time to complete a sentence because I have to go back and bring the curser to where I want it REPEATEDLY. I do NOT touch the touchpad while I type. This is a new problem. I have been using this laptop for about 18 months and the problem started about a month ago.

I have the same prob with my laptop, the solution is to go to the manufacturer web and look up your model laptop and download the newest version of your touchpad driver or th synapsis driver for touchpad it will allow you to change the sensitivity of the touch pad, believe it or not you unknowingly touch the pad while typing

Curser keeps jumping from where I'm typing to the start of my sentence

Under control panel double click the mouse and under pointer options turn off the snap to setting and restart this should correct your problem, If not the mouse could be failing. I hope this helps.

I have completed a document in MS Word and there are 2 blank pages attached at the end of document, how do I delete them from the document?

Click at the end of the paragraph or the sentence or the end of the document that you have/had type/typed. "Place the mouse pointer" then press the delete key and save the file/document. Hope it'll be helpful to you.
All the Best!

Hi, I have an Acer laptop with Vista OS. Like many others, I have a prolem with the curser, jumping all over the screen, causing a lot of typing mistakes/ problems. Is there aby fix for that?

I think what is happening is the heal of your palm is touching the touchpad. Try going in to the Control panel and lowering the sensitivity.

Typing and keyboard issues

If you're using a laptop, it sounds like the trackpad is too sensitive, so that as you type, when your thumbs touch the pad, the cursor moves.  You can adjust this easily in settings/preferences.

HP Optical Mouse Curser jumps around

I respectfully disagree with amusedgeek. He is correct aout the textured surface, though.Optical mice will take snapshots many times a second and reposition the cursor according to where the pattern was last. Rather than a single color, a pattern is your best bet for an optical mouse. The only thing I recommend is to make sure the mousepad isn't reflective at all- no glossy or semi-glossy surface. You want it to be non-reflective. Just to be sure there is nothing wrong with the mouse, you can test it simply by putting it on a newspaper and scrolling around.

My Aspire 5520-5140's curser constantly jumps all over the screen. I can barely finish a sentence without using my mousepad to reposition it.

You might have spyware messing with your mouse.
I suggest download Ad Aware 2008 (free software)
and run a full scan.

Have a Satellite L35-S2161 laptop does not power up. You press the power button and nothing happens. The laptop is plugged into the power adaptor.

when you plug in the power adaptor, does the light on the computer come on showing it has power before you press the button. If not , you need to take a voltmeter and check the DC voltage at the computer end of the adaptor while it is powered. If there is no power there, it is a problem with the cord. (this can be done yourself safely if you have access the a multimeter or you can run it down to your local radio shack and ask then to check it for you.
If the adaptor is ok , then id check where it plugs into the computer for looseness. cords get taken in & out of laptops a lot, and this area is VERY prone to getting damaged so to cause limmitted or no contact resulting in NO power.
once you've ruled out the cord , the computer power supply comes into suspect. This has airways through the back of your laptop (visable & hidden) that need to be clean (blown out) from time to time. If these get blocked with dirt, the laptop will run hot , shut down eventually and could cause damage to other hardware.
check these things and post again here, hopefully you dont have to go through everything before you find the issue.
Hope i was a help to you, let me know if i can assist you further.
