Hello there, sorry to hear about this problem. This is unfortunately fairly common with the Wii, it means the laser unit on the actual dvd-rom of the wii is having problems. Depending on how old your system is, Nintendo will fix this for free, or there may be a small fee. At this point you will want to call Nintendo at 1-800-255-3700 and explain the problem, they will definitely get you fixed up. Please be sure to rate my answer 4 thumbs up, it is extremely important to me. I would be forever grateful. If you have more questions on this or need further clarification please just respond to this answer and I will get right back with you.

Thanks
Tim

While playing games the wii makes a high pitched sound

That's the capacitors inside the system. When capacitors aren't solid state they will make a high pitched noise while under load.

Console freezes up & makes a noise during play

Wii noises are usually due to either a faulty fan or disk drive. Either one can cause the Wii to freeze up as a faulty fan can cause overheating and a faulty disk drive can slow disk reading down to where it freezes waiting for the data from the drive. It should be serviced or replaced.

While playing the game, it will suddenly make a loud sound the freeze up. What can i do to do fix this?

I have the exact same problem when I play Lego Batman on my Wii. Unfortunately, since the Wii version is the same as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, it has lots of data that the Wii console can't handle sometimes, thus making that loud noise and freezing up. You can't fix it, but the best solution would be to:
1) Unplug the Wii, then plug it back in.
2) Start up the game and try that same part again. It should work. If it doesn't, just keep trying.
*Note: When you plug it back in and start the game again, don't do any other levels before the level that keeps freezing up and making that loud noise. I hope this helps.

Wii will freeze at random times with different games.

Please make sure you don't have your wii sitting on the carpet. Make sure the wii is sitting in the silver stand and it is on a hard surface. Carpet will make the wii overheat. Do not put the wii around any other components like home theater equipment, cable box, etc. Keep it cool by making sure air can move around it and keep it away from other hot objects.
