Question about Philips MP3 & Digital Media Players

1 Answer

My MP3 player is a Phillips Expanium portable player from the year 2000 - it has worked great all these years till now. I went to play my MP3 and when I press the button to turn it on - all I get is the word HOLD and then it goes away. I put new batteries in it but it still says the same thing. It is almost like it won't turn on????? Any ideas?

I did not really fix the problem, I think my unit is just old. So I am deciding to buy something more up to date. My unit now is already 8 years old and there are other items smaller in size to carry and more modern.

Thanks anyway.

Does sony walkman Nwza17 provide great sound using excellent earphones (as opposed to headphones)?

If the player really can play flac and has a good DA converter, I think it is one of the best portable music players around.
I do use Shure SE425 and Stax RS-001 MK2 earphones (both in ear) I think the Sony NWZA17 would be a good match for both phones.
I use very expensive sound cards in my computer and only play Flac or real CD. Be aware not the amount of bits or the sample rate is important. The source used to make the digital recording decides how the result, coming out of you speakers (or earphones) can be.
My earphones can keep up with my electrostatic loudspeakers, so worth trying. If money is no issue the Shure SE535 would be great. Although more expensive than the Sony MWZA17. But once you have great earphones, they can be used for many years to come. The player will be replaced in at least 3 to 5 years

Is there a reset button for this m3p player

Mine had an ugly color screen and would not play, I left it on till it died and then some, recharged it and working well for 2 years now. If you have the setting for text wrong it will go thru the entire book before stopping.

My mp3 phillips gogear 256MB wont work anymore!!!

You would most likely have to replace it, the software gets old and the battery will die. Most likely the battery is completly shot (maybe even leaking) which has caused it to stop working

Phillips gogear is frozen

Press and hold the Power On/Off key and the Volume + key for a couple of seconds to reset

If that alone fails, run a Repair in the Philips Device Manager

Dell Digital Jukebox and microsoft vista

I think my trusty DELL DJ (now coming up on five years old!!) will sadly be replaced as my main mp3 player sometime this year... I love it, but no drivers!!! Perhaps I can find a way to use it as an external/portable hard/flash drive.
