The Flexible cable wire on your Motorola RAZR V3 is already damages. that's the most common problems on flip type mobile phones like Motorola RAZR V3. If it is still under warranty period, as a mobile phone technician I advice you to bring to your nearest service center for a new replacement of the ribbon wire on it. If you want to fix it yourself you can mange to do so, just purchased and find the replacement parts on E-bay. you may find the Dismantling guide in here. Motorola RAZR V3 Dismantle Guide
The lifetime of the phone is probably unimportant. That is, the phone will last many many years if you take care of it (like most electronic devices). What is important is how long will the battery last under normal circumstances before you need to replace it. I would say that with regular use, you should expect more than one year, to almost two years of use before the battery starts to not hold a charge and will require replacement.
I had a problem very similar to this with my Razr but my service was through Verizon. I took it into a Verizon store and they thought that a software upgrade would fix the problem. It didn't. Fortunately, the phone was still under warranty and they ended up replacing the phone.
hi, i am afraid to say, the contact between top portion has been damaged. best option would be replace, contact your service provider and request them to replace it. 1 year phone warranty should be covered by your service provider for replace of refurbished. phone and 30 days replacement for new phones.
i am pretty sure hard/soft reset on this phone will not help. :(
Try master reset under "settings". Sometimes if there is any trama to the phone the flex cable connection to the camera does pop out. If the phone is under a year old and there is no physical damage send it back to motorola thru your phone service. If not crack it open and check the connection. Manuals can be fould online. Its very tight inside this phone so if you think it is very important to get the camera working give it a try.
