How turn off "loc" on whirlpool gold gas stove top?

The "LOC" code means that the control panel has been locked. This feature is useful when you clean the control panel, since only the Time and Timer Set and Timer Cancel buttons will respond. Since you didn't give the model of your range, I'll hope that your Whirlpool uses the following method to toggle the lock on and off. Press and hold the Start/Enter button until you hear a chime and see the LOC disappear. You'll need to hold the button for ~5 to 10 seconds. Repeating the press and hold should enable the feature. This works on the RBD245PDQ12 and related models.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model of your unit if this doesn't work. I'll check if there is a different option to toggle the control lock. You can also look at the control panel for a button with a small font caption about locking the control.

I have a gw395leps00 Whirlpool gas range. Touch pad has been erratic for about a year or so - up til now it would 'come back to life.' Now about 1/3 of the buttons don't work at all - no beep/change on...

I have replaced the touch pad on our stove twice now. The original lasted just beyond the warranty period. The 2nd one lasted about 18 months. I am on the 3rd touch pad and it is still working however this time I ordered an extra one as a backup. If you do it yourself it is not that expensive. The pad is about $60.00 at an appliance parts store. It is not too difficult to replace. Make sure the gas is shut off and the stove is unplugged! Remove the screws from the control panel and pull in out just enough to access the control board, If the burner controls are on the panel remove the knobs and the screws that connect the burner controls to the panel and leave them in place. Do not tug or pull on the burner controls! Carefully unplug the pad from the control board and unpeel the stick pad from the panel Clean the contact surface with alcohol, Carefully stick the new pad on and plug it into the control board. Screw the panel back in and you are good for about another year or so.

My Frigidaire gas range oven wont stay on. It preheats and then the start button blinks and beeps. If you press start button it tries to lock the door. The model # is FGF354BGDD and serial # VF93308104

if range is serveal years old . the oven ignitor may be weak ( it will look orange instead of bright white.) this will start heating and when oven valve cycles it will not keep heat on causing a tempt problem sensed by the eoc( clock) and start beeping . it should also be giving a fault code at this time like F1 / THROUGH 9 . / so oven ignitor is probably at fault .. **** . please respond w/code if it has one so i can help. **** .

Control panel on gw395leps00 will show power failure

not sure if you need to replace your control panel, but if you do, you'll need this part http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartOnly.aspx?PPStack=0&pop=1&ShHd=0&ShFt=0&PartID=1257027
your original "membrane switch" seems to have been replaced with this new (improved?) style. it fits your range and will presumably solve any short circuit problems you may be having with your original touchpad/membrane switch

Start Button Failed on Whirlpool Electric Range Model GY396LXPQ02

It sounds like you have an oven problem rather than a start button problem. Is there an error code? If so list your model and error code on a search engine and you will find error codes. Or you can just list make model number and error codes and you can find a chart of Whirlpool error codes. I have done this with no problem. That should tell you the exact problem and things to try.

It may be neither issue you mentioned. It could be a bad element or a short.

The good news for you is that your gas provider, the folks who bill you for the gas offer a free service whereby they will send out a technician to adjust your stove for no cost.
