Are you sure you are getting/seeing this message "too many cards, please toss away", I don't think so, but if you made mistakes with the category, let me know with more details. If you did mention your Product's name and model, that'd have cleared my doubts, but since you didn't mention anything, there's no way that I could assume myself.

[[ If i am right, this error is related PALM ]].

Thanks for the info... Remove the battery (don't shut it down even if you can, but remove the battery), leave it Off for few minutes and again reinstall the battery, now turn back On again. Check the status, if the problem persists, let me know.

This is a known issue, so you don't need to be very annoyed, the most common fix is Rebooting as mentioned above.

    Good luck

    Thanks for using FixYa.

I got this camera for Christmas 2010 and now only starting to use it because I didn't have a computer that had Intel to download the software. Now I am finding out that I have to buy a separate memory...

Correct. The choice as to the size, speed, and brand of card is yours. The card that works for my shooting habits may not be the best card for yours. Why increase the cost by adding a card you may not use?

Some cameras do come with memory cards. Usually, those cards are tiny, allowing you to use the camera just enough to show that it works, but not enough to hold a day's worth of pictures, let alone a vacation's. The user then has to go get another card, and the original card gets thrown away, or tossed in a drawer and forgotten.

I have a Sony DCR-HC28 handycam. The cassette door opened and now it will not close. It keeps on flashing an icon that looks like an eject sign and repeatedly says re-connect power source.

toss it on the ground and kick it across the room.....Mine did the same thing yesterday. After I kicked it, wife said "now we have to buy a new one" Problem solved!

My nintendo fell in a fun sink of water and wont go on

Stating the obvious here, but electronics and water do not mix.
Toss it, if you have attempted to turn it on before allowing it to dry.

Allowing it to dry in a room untouched for couple weeks.
You MIGHT have a working unit again. Doubt it, however beats tossing it in the garbage right away. Glimer of hope. ;)

Next unit try to stay away from High heat and very wet situations.
You'll find unit lasts longer. :)

Good luck!

Memory card

the memory card slot ratchet is faulty: it does not click in place. This needs to be replaced. I won't recommend repairing a camera by yourself because there are miniature screws and soldered wires inside. You need to go to a camera repair shop.

Memory card will not "stay clicked into camera". Was working fine. Took memory card out - now it will slide in, but not click into place - keeps poppin gout.

i had a similar problem with a canon once, some cards have to be pushed in very hard, (not fast, just hard) it seems like it cant go, but push very hard and it should click in
