Is the button NC or NO? I have it currently wired this way but still it does not work and I'm using a switch not a button. Any suggestion?

The switch is OFF or NO normally open
See wiring diagram at following link
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-Dayton-Off-Delay-Timer.html

The way the timer works is this::
You click switch ON
When you turn switch OFF, the Dayton begins the timing sequence
The Dayton turns on the circuit going to load for 1/2 second => 5 minutes depending on model of Dayton timer

Grainger sells 120V push buttons if you don't want to turn the switch on-and-off each time

GE Profile microwave oven PEB7226SFSS quit warming food but appeared to be on/operate with light on/timer counting down. Installed door switches-now the microwave "works" only when the door is open

Sounds like on reassembly you reversed wires to door switch.
switch might have letters C NO NC (common, normally open, normally closed) one wire goes to C common, the other to NC normally closed. Try reversing the wires.
If you use meter measuring continuity meter on C and NO should be high resistance until you press switch.
meter C to NC measures low resistance until you press switch then measures high or infinity (open)

How to wire a fan relay

A fan relay has 2 switches, a NC, normally closed switch
and a NO, normally open switch.
The relay has a coil that acts as an electromagnet and when energized with 24 volts from the thermostat will close the NO and open the NC switches.
The NO switch is the High speed , the NC switch goes to Low speed however as it is NC a temperature or time delay is what actually controls the low speed, low speed is the heat speed.
The NO switch in the fan relay goes directly to the High speed lead, this is the Cooling speed and the Fan On speed.
The 24 volt coil in the fan relay is wired to Green from the thermostat and Common 24 volt neutral leg.

Ryobi 10 in Mitre saw with laser, switch / motor wiring diagram?

capacitors are known as capacitors or condensers. Both do the same job of storing electrical energy and then releasing it when the current flows back . They are used to either start an electric motor or stop arcing on the brushes by absorbing the current flow as it stops over each commuter bar of the armature

R-1481 start button won't work

I have a r-1482 model so I don't know how close they will be. The biggest issue I found so far with my particular model, yours my be the same, is the door safety micro switches fail primarily from opening the door while the unit is in the process of cooking which causes them to arc and burn the contacts resulting in premature failure. With an ohm meter, check the resistance of the contacts of each switch individually with the COM terminal lug temporarily removed and ensure the closed resistance is 0 ohms and infinity when the contacts are open. Measure from the COM terminal to the terminal in use either N.O. or N.C., with the switch button NOT depressed the N.O. will be open while the N.C. will be closed and with the button depressed they will be opposite, in other words N.O. will be closed and N.C. will be open. Another thing to check is that the door hooks aren't broken (they activate the safety switches. Should you remove the switch bracket to replace the micro switches, make sure you wire the switches exactly the way they were COM to COM, NC to NC & NO to NO, mount them in the bracket the exact way they were and adjust the bracket so that the switch buttons are just to the point of being fully depressed and no more when the door is fully closed. The micro switches may be different in model numbers but you can sub with a micro switch that has all three COM, NC, NO terminals and only use the terminals in use for the given switch. I used Omron p/n: D3V-16G-1C25-K from Mouser Electronics (800) 346-6873. Since you didn't indicate the control panel was not operational I won't go into that area. I can't say if the timer will count down or not if the micro switches are bad, but it's a possibility, further pointing to the switches. If the control panel or MW tube is bad it's my recommendation to buy a new oven, though you can get new MW tubes, diode & capacitor, it's not worth the shocking experience to the human body, not to mention the MW radiation.
Good luck if you still have the oven and decide to take it one step further.

How do you reset out of balance switch?

HI - you cannot normally reset an OOB switch on a F & P washer....

This is what I suggest you do instead, unplug the power supply, remove 2 screws on the rear top corners, may have to lift the door upwards to remove & take the display part off.

Beneath the controller is the switch on the right side, unplug all the wires & to make life easy for you mark them so for later.

be gentle with the switch housing as these are a pain in the **** it is very fragile, remove the 2 wires, see if you can free the little switch - use WD40 or CRC clean it up nice, but best if you replace it - any switch from the store will do as long as it matches, most switches will have 3 terminals instead of 2 - they all do the same thing, just match the terminals to each other - normally have a C - NO - NC marked on them of which you will use the NC & C...

Have fun...

I'm in need of an inexpensive timer, preferably mounted in a wallswitchbox, which has two output circuits, one from a n/o and one n/c contact. Can you recommend a model? Thank you

Instruction sheet
Sales sheet

Deihl spa-and-pool timer shows a 15A DPST NC NO timer in sales sheet
Wiring diagrams show DPST.
However most 880's sold are 125V SPST.
Deihl makes 125 V, 24V and 240V models ... but I don't have product sheet that shows all models

I don't see any NO NC wall-timers while looking at: Woods, GE, Intermatic, Aube, Hagar, Leviton, Lutron, Paragon, Pass and Seymour, Swilight, Sylvania, Timex, Tork, UPM, Utilitec

Box timers by Intermatic offer NO NC:
T1900 series
T171

Ordinary 3-way switch is NC NO
Ordinary 4-way switch is NC NO can be wired to control 2 independent circuits

There are heavy load NO NC contactors (relays)
Item 2cg37
You can wire ordinary wall timer to control the contactor

Hi

thank you for your query

As long as your laptp has wi fi functionality then you can use it in local hotspots, the only 2 things you will need to do are

1) Switch ti on (normally a switch on the front of the laptop)
2) Once switched on you will get a message on your screen advising wireless connections found, simply choose the one you want to connect and click ok

How to connect a lampost to a timer. GE Time Switches 15207

The following is for the GE 15207 to be operated at 120 volts ONLY(which is what you have):

Make sure the DIP switch is set to 120 volts (all switches in the ON position).

BOTH white wires are connected to the left most terminal. The incoming black (HOT or LINE) wire from the breaker or source is connected to the second terminal from the left.

Also under the second terminal from the left, connect a jumper (using the same gauge wire) over to the "COM" terminal.

Then connect the outgoing black wire (LOAD) to the lamppost to the "NO" terminal.

The two bare grounding wires are twisted together with the supplied wirenut. This is _very_ important for safety.

HAVING TROUBLE INSTALLING A GE DIGITAL TIMER SWITCH HAVE A HOT WIRE LOAD WIRE AND NEUTRAL I CONNECT HOW THE DIAGRAM SHOWS AND GET POWER TO THE UNIT BUT WHEN IT IS SWITCHED THERE IS NO POWER TO THE LIGHTS....

OK NC== Normally CLOSED.
NO==Normally OPEN.
COM=Common.
SO IF you use the NO, the thing will BE OFF, at the start.
If you use the NC, the thing will BE ON, at the start.
The COM. Is the the common connection to all.

OK I HAD A BAD LID SWITCH ON MY KENMORE WASHER SO I BOUGHT ONE THAT LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE MINE. WHEN I GOT HOMWE I FOUND OUT THE PLUG IN WAS DIFFERENT. IT HAS THE SAME THREE WIRES ALL MATCHING COLORS. SINCE...

Look at both switches for markings by the contacts or wires or on the switch itself.

NC = Normally Closed connection
NO = Normally Open connection
C = Common connection

If the colors match the markings on the switch you should be good. If they do not match wire colors, match the markings NC – NO – C marked on the switch. Also make sure the voltage and current ratings are the same or higher than the original switch.
