Remove Meat Probe

I am cooking on the stove top and the oven is off. The oven starts beeping and reads: remove meat probe across the screen. I do not have the meat probe in or the oven on. I press the meat probe and it turns off. 30 secounds later it is beeping again. I try this several times with the same result. I tried inserting the meat probe than turning it off. The same result. So, without putting the meat probe in, I set the meat probe to 100 bake and go have dinner. When I return the oven is off and there is no beeping.
