Hoover SteamVac LS F5899-910

Clean Water Tank solution empties into Recovery Tank while running.... everything else works fine, inc. spraying, brushes, suction. Possible faulty Clean Water Tank gasket??? Will I need to replace Clean Water Tank?

Thanks.

SteamVac LS falls under F5899100 @ hoover.com... after looking closer, it's not clean water tank, it's something else. There's an assembly just below cln wtr tank that could be problem, hard to say. Something is blocked or faulty causing water from clean water tank to moderately discharge into recovery tank. As stated before, aside from this, everything else works fine.

its clean, inside & out... inspected upper reservoir assy, bottom turbine assy, bottom pump assy; all are clean and appear functioning. The discharge from clean water tank to recovery tank is not quick but is obvious... it appears something is worn to cause this. To me, it has to be one of the mentioned assemblies... maybe. But it still steamvac's good.

http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/F7452900.pdf Heres a link to the manual if you dont have one, Ive emailed them and they gave me the same solutions that are on page 17. ? Make sure tank is securely locked in position ? Clean water tank or detergent container empty ? Refill container according to instructions for surface being cleaned ? Recovery tank lid not on correctly ? Make sure lid is firmly in place ? Valve cap clogged ? Remove and clean valve cap (see following instructions) 1. Remove clean water tank. 2. Turn valve cap (A) counterclockwise and remove. Soak valve cap in warm water for at least 15 minutes. Wipe cap dry. 3. Align slots (B) on cap with tabs (C) in opening. Turn cap clockwise to tighten.

My Hoover Steamvac Widepath will NOT pickup the water after dispensing. I checked the hose inside the cleaner, there was a cut in the hose so I put electrical tape and completely sealed the cut. Still...

Hi, empty the recovery tank of the Hoover SteamVac if the cleaner fails to pick up dirt. Once the tank is full, many Hoover models have an automatic shutoff that stops the cleaner. If the does not resolve the pickup issue, check the hose of the machine and remove any blockage.

Examine the water tank if water does not dispense from the SteamVac. It could be empty and need of a refill, or you may not have locked the dispenser firmly in place. The detergent tank should also be looked at and filled if empty.

Take care

Check to make sure that the lid locked down all of the way around. If yours has a foam filter on the inside of the recovery tank lid, make sure it has at least a 1/4 in. gap from the top. There is a filter, from the bottom, has a red casing, remove it and clean it. Also make sure that the removeable duct in front of the recovery tank is in place.

Catch tank empty

Which you had posted your model number, If you have a foam filter on the inside of tyhe recovery tank lid, make sure there is at least a 1/4 in. gap between the lid and the top of the filter. Make sure that the lid is locked down in the back, try to push it up, if it is locked it won't move. If yours has a place for a duct in front of the recovery tank, make sure it is there and pushed all of the way down.

Steamvac quit spraying

Check the seal that the clean water tank sits on, may have come loose. The filter inside the dirty water tank has been pushed up too far, needs to have a 1/4 in. gap from the top to the top of the filter.
