Are you sure?

You sure its the flyback? cuz i see a lot of stuff about the blue crt. Was it the eight blinks that pinpointed it?

Thats what 8 blinks indicates for that model means T8005 is defective and T8005 is the flyback, you may very well have a bad blue CRT as well but the 8 Blink error code is definately the flyback and the flyback going out could have raised heat voltage to the CRT and that in itself could cause the Blue CRt to flash.

you have the Same chassis as the HS30 which is a RA-6 sony chassis your model uses that same flyback. they usually only list a few of the models that that paticular Flyback fits as there are probably 200 models with the RA-6 chassis such as you have. but thats the flyback the service manual list for your model.

My sony kp- fx532m91 has trouble in turning on it takes 30 to 60 minutes before it will open/on. and it blinks six time every 3seconds. what could be a possible remedy anyone can help me.

Iam thinking that 6 blinks means power suply make sure all voltages are right according to the board.Could be somthing is pulling down on 5 volt line or12 volt line. If it is a CRT which Iam sure it is then there is 150 volts DC or so for the flyback there is a high voltage block for the high voltage for each gun red blue and green.Check power suply horizontal output high voltage block focus and screen block.

51ws500 sony shuts down and standby light flashes 8 times

Eight blinks points to an audio output problem. The unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some projection models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 (flyback transformer), or the associative components in the high voltage circuits are defective on the D board.

Hope that helps.

9 blink problem with Sony KP-57ws520. Cost to get fixed anyone?

Nine blinks means that there is a problem in the HV circuit. It could be the flyback, the divider block or a shorted CRT. How old is your unit? How many hours per day do you watch it? If the flyback and divider block are bad it would be about $250 to fix at a reputable shop. Bad CRT and you are looking at $400. Give me more information and I may be able to pinpoint the problem for you.

Sony kp-57ws500 flashes blue, green, red then turns off

Re-insering the flyback wire is usually very easy. Push in and give a slght turn and check to see if grabbed. It sounds as if there is more issues than flyback wire. TV should turn on without one crt connected

Turns off blinks 6 times and turns off blinks eight times

No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some projection models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 (flyback transformer), or the associative components in the high voltage circuits are defective on the D board.good luck

Blue Screen and TV shuts off

Here's a shortcut to what the blinking codes mean.
Strange how some people have 5 blinks. Most with this problem have 8 blinks (like myself)

I still have the blue-flash-then-shutting-off problem.. (8 blinks meaning voltage error) but I did fix the blue lines.. The lines across the screen can be very easily fixed whether they're blue green or red. . No, I mean REALLY easy. Took me longer to get the cover off. Once the front cover is off it takes 10 seconds. This link was also posted recently in one of the posts below as a solution..
(My lines didn't look like the ones in the picture mine were several evenly spaced blue arcs)

After some research I believe the flash/shutting off problem means the CRT is going. I've also read that it might be the D-board and I'm not even sure that that is... But If it is indeed the CRT then I'll let you know it's very difficult to find a replacement blue CRT as this part has been discontinued.. but I did eventually find an alternate to an alternate part (yes that's the 3rd alternate !)) online for $256. Here:

If you're bold enough to attempt that then good luck and please let us know if it worked.
Or another alternative is there's a whole lot of Boxing Day sales goin' on right now.

RCA TV RCA D61W20, Light Blinks 3 Times

Usually when the crt leaks onto the chassis it can be cleaned and the affected components only have to be replaced I am not sure what "chip" you are refering too, but most ICs can be purchased as a replacement part. usually the entire board wont need replacing unless the traces are destroyed or replacement parts are unavailable.

If the flyback is bad, the 135 volts will reach about 70 or 80 volts and the set will shut down, and the LED will blink twice. Usually, for 8 blinks, the high voltage capacitor inisde the splitter is shorted, and an easy test for this is to disconnect the thin gray ground wire, move it away from everything else and turn the set on. The set will now run but the ground wire will hiss like crazy. If you replaced the splitter but the set will not run, try disconnecting the 3 high voltage wires to the CRT's and see if the set runs. If it does, reconnect the high voltage wires one by one until you find which CRT is loading down the high voltage. Let me know how you make out.
