Question about Philips 50PF9630A 50 in. Plasma Television
It is possible (not always likely) that something may have allowed the gas to escape out of one side of your screen. As there can be 2 or 4 chambers for plasma gas to reside (this is usually discernible given the size and complexity of your particular set).
OR, there is something wrong/loose with the internal connections to each 'chamber', I.e., the tuner could have gone out for the top row or the connections serving the top row have become corrupt.
Sadly, I am not away of any consumer ready testing equipment for Plasma sets, so troubleshooting the issue to a finite point to tell the technician whet to do (other than rook you like crazy) is going to be a bit tough.
I personally pass on working on plasmas as they are brutally fragile, but if your adventuresome, take a screw driver to the back and see/smell (no I'm not kidding) for signs of damage.
