Hello,

Let me take a look at that mainboard....

1 x AGP slot (8x/4x, AGP 3.0 compliant), supports 1.5v display card only.

Okay this information is misleading. AGP 2.0 uses 1.5V, AGP 3 cards function at 0.8v.

Your slot supports AGP3.0 so this is comfusing I understand.

But this is irrelevant and any AGP X4/X8 card will work on this machine as long as it mentions support for X4 and X8 socket.

Like this one, the best AGP card available today I think. - best I could find in the AGP section.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161337&cm_re=AGP-_-14-161-337-_-Product

As long as it reads
InterfaceAGP 4X/8XIt will work, if it reads 8x only, I would first ask if it is possible to send the card back incase it does not work with your mainboard.

But I'm guessing that all AGP card will work on this as your board has the latest AGP, and AGP is discontinued. It won't get any better from what it is.

Pcwith FSB800 DDR400 motherboard is not boothing and is giving 3 long beeps. Can you help please? Thanks

Hi this problem can be caused by either faulty hardware or bios.
1., reset the bios => unplug the comp, open it, look for a small battery on the motherboard and remove it, wait for 30 secs and put it all back together
2., diagnose hardware problem: remove first the ram modules and see if it can be turned on, repeat this with every part (hdd, ram modules separately, sound card, graphics card and finally if needed the cpu => only if everything else fails, you'll need thermal paste to put it back on). If the completely stripped mobo cannot be started then it is probably faulty.
Finally when you successfully located the faulty part replace it.
Good luck!

Wont start monitor

The Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra MB will only run certain AGP graphics cards. Check you manual. See page 1. Click the next link to open your manual; http://europe.giga-byte.com/FileList/Manual/motherboard_manual_8pe667u_e.pdf
To view your manual you'll need the program, Adobe PDF reader.
You can download Adobe here; http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/
If you install anything other than an AGP 4X, (1.5Volt) graphics card. Your system may not boot up normally, if at all. Just because you tested your graphics card in another system does not mean the card is compatible with the GA-8PE667 Ultra. The link below will show a compatible graphics card for your Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra;

AGP card support

Hi, Unfortunately no AGP slot nor PCI-E. The Gigabyte GA-8I845GV motherboard has only 3 Expansion Slots and all of the are PCI (33MHz & PCI 2.2 compliantt). From their website, here's an image of the motherboard http://www.giga-byte.com.tw/FileList/Image/motherboard_productimage_ga-8i845gv_big.jpg It has a built-in Intel® Extreme Graphics Engine (845GV chipset) for video with max of 128 mb shared memory. Should you wish to install an add-on 3rd party PCI video card, Inno3D FX5500 256ddr PCI slot tv-dvi are still available (at least in my location) for an equivalent of about 3.5K INR (80USD+). Hope this gives you an idea. Good luck and kind regards.

What graphics card this motherboard will support

Gigabyte did not put a special graphics slot (AGP, PCIe etc) on this corporate series board. It has good internal graphics support. If you would like to run two monitors, it appears that one choice is the CHAINTECH P-FX20 256MB Geforce FX5200 256MB 128-bit DDR PCI Video Card, based upon user reviews at NewEgg. You may need help getting both graphics adapters to operate together. Typically, there is a jumper on the card that disables "Primary VGA" mode. Your OS should boot using the on-board adapter and then you can tell the OS that it should "Extend the Desktop" to the second (PCI) adapter. Your results may vary.
