Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

The drain cycle does not drain completely. You need to restart it 6 or 7 times before it drains completely. When it first starts you can hear it draining but it only lasts for 5 seconds and then appears to stop draining. This is a Whirlpool Quiet Partner II Model DUL200PKT1

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with try to leave the unit unplugged for 10-15 minutes and while its unplugged check for clogs in the drain hose.
Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn't working properly, the drain pump isn't working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home's drain lines. First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages, if everything appears to be fine then it is better to use warranty (if it still has warranty) and get it replaced/repaired, if its out of warranty then it is the pump filter that should be checked. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

My washer will spin but not drain

Check to see that your drain pump is working. Normally the drain pump is somewhat noisy and you should hear it start whenever a cycle is completed and your washer needs to drain the water out. If your pump is working, check your drain piping for blockages.

Kitchenaid DW KUDS30FXSS Cycle starts then I hear a solenoid actuate 4 times then unit goes into cancel drain cycle

Here's a link for the repair manual for your dishwasher:
http://www.appliancerepair.net/kitchenaid-dishwasher-repair.html
Concentration should be on Chapter 2 subsection 2-3 "No Fill"
Then go to Chapter 6; subsections 6-2, 6-3, 6-3a, 6-3b, 6-3c, and 6-3h for testing procedures on relays, actuator valves, etc.

Reset button maytag dishwasher

  • 1 Open and close the dooricon1.png of your Maytag dishwasher.
  • 2 Locate the "Rinse" button on the dishwasher control panel. Press and release the button five times in quickicon1.png succession.
  • 3 Press and release the adjacent "Drain/Off" button on the control panel two times; this will deactivate the dishwasher's demo mode and reset your dishwasher.
  • If you need to restart your dishwasher or forgot some dishes and want to open it during a cycle and restart it

  • 1 Press the "Cancel Drain" button on the display. Allow about 2 minutes for the dishwasher to completely drain.
  • 2 Choose a cycle under "Cycles" on the panel.
  • 3 Select an option or options under "Options" on the panel.
  • 4 Push the "Start Resume" button.

My GE Adora dishwasher is not cleaning well and the detergent isn't completely disolving. What could be the problem?

Mine has been doing the same thing for about 2 months now.. I tried Finnish brand diswasher cleaner, but to no avail. Try this:

    1) Empty your dishwasher, then take out the lower rack.

    2) Start a regular cycle. Wait until you hear the jets turning, then open the door. Make sure there is enough water in the bottom - It should be just UNDER the heating element.

    3) If your dishwasher is getting enough water, Reset your washer and allow it to drain.

    4) Go to the store and get a gallon jug of white vinegar. Start your dishwasher on a regular cycle.

    5) Once you hear the jets turning, Open the door and add FOUR CUPS (liquid measure) of white vinegar to the water in the bottom. Let the wash cycle complete.

    6) When the wash cycle drains, the rinse cycle will fill. Once the rinse cycle starts, add ANOTHER FOUR CUPS of white vinegar to the first rinse cycle.

    7) Allow the first rinse cycle to drain. Let the second rinse cycle complete normally.

I know this sounds too good to be true, but it REALLY DID work for me, this evening as a matter of fact! I also bought some hard water/soap film detergent additive from the store. It was kind of expensive, but I'm using it for a while just in case.

I hope this helps. Like I said, I couldnt believe it when my dishes came out clear again! Also, I turned OFF the heated dry cycle, and just opened the door and pulled out the racks when it was done.

    Good Luck!

Maytag neptune stops in mid cycle

It sounds like your drain pump is going. Neptunes are suppose to neqarly dry the clothes with how fast it spins. A poor drain pump/motor, could cause this to be less effective. There could also be something in the drain lines. I would check that before you pay money on a pump though.

Water runs into tub but does not fill?

be sure the drain hose is not lower than the wash tub this will caust the water to run out, 2nd be sure the drain hose is not pushed to far into the house stand pipe and the there is rome for air to go inbetween the drain hose and stand pipe eather of these will cause the machine to siphon mostly on rince cycle or on the 2nd and third loads you do. last your house drain could be starting to back up fill the washer with water and listen to it drain if you hear a gurggling sound in the house pipe you may need a plumber to cleanthis out for you.

Dishwasher not completing the programed wash, Now won't restart.

There is not a reset button, but you can try by holding both drain and one of the wash cycle.. hold it for a few seconds.. keeping trying drain and another, and another.... you will hear drain motor draining water out... if there is standing water at the bottom... if the cycle stopped after wash cycle, its usually your control... hope this help...
