Question about Baby & Toddler Car Seats

Hey iDude~ Hey, could you give me some pointers on how to get more fixya rateings? What kind of problems to answer to and so on, how do you keep your rateins high? The problem is. I have a rateing of 84.1(originally 80, got it up to 84 withing last month wow.. 4 weeks) The guys at fixya stoped removeing innapropriate rateings so I'l have to live with them for now. To get to a guru you need 85.01 So all advice you could give me on how to get that 90 percent - Im missing - Fast!. =)

Well, best thing is to choose queries that are complete and that you are comfortable with. Also the ones asking for drivers, manuals, etc that should be easy to find.
I also take time to research the answers and provide all possible solutions in the first answer itself..most askers want immediate answers, and I try to avoid the queries where you know the asker has to get a repair done. Even if so, i try to provide as much information on troubleshooting as possible, before mentioning in the last line "if all these methods are unsuccessful you will probably have to get the device repaired or purchase a new one, whichever works out cheaper for you". Most cases they are happy with that statement.
I also used to add a template text regarding ratings in the past, and I notice now that I used to get a higher percentage of Fixyas and Helpfuls. I dont do that much these days, and have noticed a drop. Maybe I should start again.

Here's another tip. I go to my unrated solutions which are more than 2 weeks old and post this:
"Hello,

This thread has gone 14 days or more without a response. Please close the thread with a “FixYa” or “Helpful” rating.

If the issue is not resolved, please post back with latest developments, what steps you took, etc. and I will assist you further as best I can.

Thank you.
IrishDruid"

Well, actually I just tried that yesterday, and I got an unbelievable amount of ratings..I got 46 of my old unsolved posts rated in 24 hrs. Most of them either Fixya or Helpful. Of course, you do get the odd T$T and Inapps, but that is mostly negligible..

Here are my stats for the past 3 days. Notice the huge number of posts rated after I sent that notice:
29-May 369 88.33% 122 90 76 0 30-May 384 88.35% 126 93 78 1 31-May 427 88.09% 134 111 82 3 Format: Date | Votes | Rating | Fixya | Helpful | T4T | Inapp

Of course, my rating dropped dratically because of those buggering Inapps..but you get the picture...

Yeah..try it for anything older than 14 days.Yesterday I spent about an hour posting that to the 700+ unrated posts that i had. Seems to be worth the effort.

And good luck! I'm sure you'll make it to Guru status pretty soon. Rising 4% in a month is excellent! I have actually fallen by nearly 2% in my ratings from the beggining of the month to now.. Maybe thats because of the large number of free posts I do everyday..

No way! You can't! I demand 25% commission on all your earnings if you are going to use my text.

Hehe, just joking..no problemo, go ahead and use that text. (Its not copyrighted). Just be sure to change the 14 days to something closer to the actual date of posting, maybe 7 days or 14 days or 21 days or 30 days..that will allow for the fact that you are sending the note pretty late.

I mean if you are going to send the text with 14 days to a post that was posted say 30 days ago, it wouldnt make much sense. In this case, I'd change that to either 21 days or 30 days.. Hope you got what I mean..

Well, there were no premiums or chats coming yesterday at 3:00am anyways, and the one that did come my way, you got the Fixya..for the same answer..GRRR..

It took me nearly an hour because I was not simply copy pasting in every post. I was going thru the post again, and didnt post that text for posts where I knew I either made a mistake, or there is no chance of getting a Fixya or Helpful rating...

Yup, the potential is there. Sometimes the askers simply say they bought a new device or something and just close the thread by giving a Fixya..they ain't losing anything anyways :)

Hey Ekse, just keep this tip between us, OK?

I have a Britax Renaissance car seat . How do I remove the base unit.

Hi
Normally it's not reccomandable to remove the base ... It's build to last forever and keep the seat sturdy in it's place. This construction gives you the option to change the position into 5 different angles for sitting, resting and sleeping. Just when you want to install the seat or put it into it's "sleeping position" just lift the recline handle under the seat shell and pull it. This way you'll have more space to get the seat-belts through.

Remote Assistance

You know what I do.. If we solve the problem with remote assistance, I mostly take them back to fixya if already closed, then on the my profile page open the write a review link on the chat for them.

Yeah no problem.

Btw, I think it solved on its own I haven't changed anything but its only showing one email in all messages now instead of duplicates.
