Hello,

First, to get a replacement part, you will need to either:
1) Contact customer service department (see the manual) and be put in touch with technical support. They should then be able to use their resources to find the part that you need. If your phone is still under warranty, you should pursue this method, but they likely will want the phone sent to them for repair

2) Open the handset up, and identify the LCD part number. Search the internet for a replacement, perhaps from a similar phone, or same model phone that doesn't work.

More than likely though, the display has shifted slightly, and the mastic conductor pad between the display and the circuit board has shifted. All the mastic is but a series of circular conductors arranged next to each other. Arrange the mastic conductor across the contact pads on the circuit board, and carefully lay the LCD panel on top.

The symptom that you describe results from the LCD timing connections being damaged, or intermittent. Rarely though, is the actual driver IC itself damaged since the handset is powered by a low voltage battery. Static can still affect it, but rare.

This means that the LCD display is faulty and you will need to change with the same type of part.
Now since as what you means garbled it can be the liquid crystal being damaged or spotted in the inside.
The LCD display unit must match the same type for the display to work to the menu. SO you will need to remove the handset and open the rear covers . Check if there is any scar with the battery taken out, if so the connectors can be faulty , so remove and clean the connecting pads of the LCD before you can confirm on the LCD.
If so get help from spares support of AT &T if the similar type is not available in regular spare shops.

Hello,

Here are three ways of getting your phone a good replacement below .

1 You can get the replacement from any of the phone distributors or store round your local area.

2 By calling on the service provider or customer care line with your phone or some one eases own for free off charge to make enquirer if the part is available in there store or any or there outlet .

3 Or contact to the manufacturer of the phone online and order for the part online together with the serial(model) number of the phone always at the back of the phone or make use of the below address

amazon.com epinions.com binet.lv

All these sites offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare.

Replacing a cordless part is not a difficult repair and can be accomplished by the average do-it-yourself offer. If you decide to order the part and wish to repair this on your own.

Thank you and thanks for using fixya.

Why is kx-tg4223 cordless phone system is garbled ?

Keep in mind that cordless phones are basically radio phones. You have a "station" that transmits the signal to the handset (receiver) This means you are subject to interference from other electric or electronic devices and can seem "sporadic."

Similarly, just like a radio or tv.. your phone has "channels" typically 2 or 3.

So first. Make sure your base is away from any other electronics to reduce interference. Then if "whomever" calls and you still have issues, try changing channels with the handset. (read your manual)

Need manual for 900 MHz cordless phone #43-725. Available online?

Radio Shack has the manual for the 43-725 (TAD-725) here: support.radioshack.com/support_phones/doc61/61203.pdf . The manual for the AT&T 9371 is available here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/AT%26T-9371-Telephones-manual/id/473ci156/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to access the PDF.

I hope this helps.

My phone says no link to base but I am right beside it.

Sounds like the antenna on the base station is not receiving, or the cordless handset is not transmitting -OR- the sets have never been registered to the base station (please look up registering to base station, if the set has never been registered)

Did the cordless set work before?

The base station or the handset may just have a hick up, I would un-plug the base station and leave it un-plugged... now get all the cordless set(s), and take out the batteries from the cordless set(s). Wait for about 15 seconds for all the power to drain out of the sets, then re-install the batteries.

Once all the cordless sets are back up and working, plug in the base station and wait for about 1 minute.
This forces the base station to re-establish and link between the base station and the cordless sets.

Good luck

I can hear, but not talk, on my ATS RA2184BB cordless phone.

Have you tried unplugging your base station and all the handsets?

Sometimes the base station, where the power and the telephone line plugs into needs a reset. Just like a computer sometimes it needs a reboot.

If problem presists, take a regular analog phone and plug it in to the same jack as the cordless phone bas station, and see if it is a cable issue/ telephone company issue.

OUT OF SERVICE MESSAGE

Hi J,

Apparently that one from Ebay looks nice but has issues (not uncommon). If you took it out of the box, charged it fully and its has garbled audio, then the handset or the base is defective, or both, but at least at this point you can get a handset to "communicate" with the base and the "in/use light turns on, when you try to access a line, correct? . If you get the "out of service" message when trying to "move" the "ebay" handset to the other base, it sounds as if the base station and handsets are "coded" and were married together at the factory and one handset won't interchange with anothers base. However, try this before you go the repair service route, or roll the dice with another fine product off EBay :). Unplug and power down both bases, the one from Ebay and your old one. Take the Ebay handset and set it in the charging cradle of your old base. Power up and wait three minutes. Plug dial tone in and give it a try. If it still says "no service" , and won't light the "in/use" light when you try to use it then it won't work with your base, or/and your old handset you lost is somewhere near and is still communicating with its base. Now if you lost your handset weeks ago, then the odds that it is still alive are pretty slim. But I have heard handsets in the warehouse beep for days til their battery dies. You can google cordess telephone repair for service. Good Luck. CG

Answering machine replay is garbled

Your handset battery will have no effect on the answering machine audio, providing your regular audio is fine (its fine when you make a phone call right?), I will assume yes. I have seen this problem in these models, and your problem lies in your base station, and the only fix you can attempt is to go into base programming and delete as much as you can out of the memory, greetings, old messages, etc.. Power down, then power back up again. Call in and leave a message. See if it sounds better through the handset or the speaker on the base when you play it back. If its garbled both ways (reviewing through the handset or on the speaker base) , then your problem is in your base memory. If it is just garbled on your handset, then it may be a radio module problem with the base, either way it probably needs to go in for repair. I don't know if Panasonic still repairs that model, but if you google Panasonic cordless telephone repair, you will find someone. Good Luck, CG

AT&T 9371 TELEPHONE HANDSET

I know that these were good phones, but time marches on. I would search the web to see if you can find one for sale. Try to Google and see if you can find one. But I think you might as well look at some newer models. Prices have lowered and there are many improvements now. The newest ones out are dect and they pickup less interferance.

Tip 1 of 2 Recradle the handset for 15 seconds, then lift the handset and press PHONE. Tip 2 of 2 If the handset is not responding normally, you may need to reset your telephone system. Complete the following steps to reset the telephone system: Step 1: Disconnect the power to the telephone base. Step 2: Disconnect the handset battery. Step 3: Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power to the telephone base. Step 4: Reconnect the handset battery Step 5: Wait about one minute for the handset to re-establish a link with the telephone base and then test the phone again. If that does not work, call the manufacture at 1-800-595-9511. Or take it back to where you purchased it and have then exchange it.
