Doesn't start anymore

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible. If this doesn't do it please reply to this post and we'll go on from there.

It's "frozen". won't change from the screen its

Try to reset it by taking out the batteries and leaving to sit for a minute or so, if that doesn't work take out the small battery as well and leave it sit, if you're still stuck you can call ti-cares (800-842-2737) they're generally very helpful.

My ti 84 plus does not want to turn on, i thought it was battery problem so, i bought new batteries but i stil have a blank screen.

Could it be that your screen has been dimmed in error. Turn the calculator on & press the 2nd key and then the up arrow. This darkens the screen.

If this doesn't work, try taking out the backup battery. It is located in the battery compartment, behind a little door that you must take off with a phillips screwdriver. Leave it out for about 10 hours. If this doesn't work, try replacing the backup battery.

Hope this helps.

Same as last time

Be reasonable in what you say especially when you seem to infer a blinding truth. If your screen were broken you would not be able to "FIX" it through a connection to another calculator.
I know. Sooner or later you will post another similar question so better learn what the real problem is.
Casino swamps your memory and messes up you calculator. If no more memory is available you cannot get any response from any key.

Play Casino as much as you want. Stop the game before you win that fateful 120000 dollars. Reset the Ram and play again.
Reinstalling the OS by connecting the calculator to another unit effectively reset the RAM and kicks casino out of memory.

To reset the RAM before the calculator is completely frozen, press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset] [ENTER]
Calculator answers with Ram Cleared. Press the [CLEAR] button to erase that message.

My TI-84 Plus Silver Edition is completely frozen up.

A possible solution is to reset the calculator. It's worth a try.

Take out the backup battery above the regular batteries behind a little door with a screw. Leave it out for about 8 hours along with the 4 AAA batteries. Put it all back together and see if this works. Not sure but it is worth a try.

TI 85 doesn,t turn on. I didn't use the calculator for a year. Please help !

Assuming good batteries, both AAA and the Memory CR 1616, then most often a screen contrast problem. Push ON, Then 2nd button (yellow Key) , then UP arrow, then either UP or Down arrow
to set your contrast. Good Luck, Calculator should show the screen calculations now, so you can tell if it is on or not.............Not that it wasn't working, you just couldn't see it working or coming on......
