I have a new 1642 VLZ3. I have to turn the gain almost all the way up with all the mics and it still does not reach unity levels. What are the posible solutions or problems.

I would be surprised with all 16 mics active that you can't reach near a clipping level... Of course if you only have 8 mics active we would not expect to reach unity levels. Make sure this board is powered from the same receptacle as your amps. Powering it from building power at opposite ends of a room from where the amps are powered is asking for damage from ground bounce. The pros run a power back to the mixer alongside the snake.
Your trims will be fairly wide open for dynamic mics and your faders should be around unity during use. It is nice if the main fader can be around 50% or more. Use BALANCED lines everywhere including those running to the amps.

No volume control with 2 faders on Mackie CR1604 mixer

If all other functions work for those channels, the most likely problem is the fader itself. These can fail and operate more like switches rather than faders. Without witnessing the behavior, I can not state that for sure. While these mixers are not the hardest to work on, they are time consuming. The faders can be purchased from Mackie directly. If you need to have this repaired, any shop that repairs audio gear should be able to erpair this for you. Where are you located?

Need a Peavy Unity Series 1000 Mixer manual

Hi, I have the same problem with the sliders. The board is diffucult to open. You have to take off all the knobs, plastic inserts on th XLR's and nuts on the 1/4' jacks. (Not to mention those black plastic holders.) The slides are 10k and come out quiet easily if you use solder wick. The main board is held in by about 20 of those black plastic holders. You have to release them one at a time starting at the front of the board and work right top left, row by row. The holders will stay on the bottom of the mixer. Peavey.com has the slides in stock for $3.72 each. The phone number is 1-877-732-8391 ext. 1386. (don't forget to order the knobs for each of the slides) Hope this helps. Frank.
