Good morning, Linda;

This is very much like taking a picture without putting a roll of film in an older 35mm camera. You did take the picture, but there was nothing in the camera for storing it.

Is this something where you can go back after putting a memory card into your camera and try taking the photograph again?

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Try to recover what is left on the memory stick with TestDisk on a pc.
Note, download the windows version and not the dos/windows version, the
dos/windows version is for windows 3.11 and lower.

Try to fomat the card afterwards if this does'nt help at all try another card in

It sounds like the software on the card has suddenly dissappeared. Try downloading the software from sony back onto the card. Let me know if this helps.
