The wiring that goes inside the seat rub on the piece of metal frame and burst causing the fuse to blow and i am not getting anysignal

Posibilty u fried it. get new fuse and post agian with more descriptions if if problem continues

The 30 amp fuse keeps blowing


First, determine what devices the fuse is protecting. There should be something inside the cap of the fuse block to tell you. 30 amp probably goes to the headlights. Check for wiring that rubs against metal and may have rubbed off the insulation. Does the fuse blow when you turn the ignition on or does it blow later?

How can find what is causing the fuse to blow in our storage compartments


You have to mechanically trace the positive wire to see where it is grounding out against the metal frame. Usually it is where it rubbed.
Sometimes it is easier to just run new wiring to it.

Controll fuse blow


There is a shot in the control circuit, check for wires that are bare and rubbing on the frame or engine. Also look for green wires, and bad or poor connections as this will cause a fuse to blow.

look where the wires go threw the frame to the clutch and unplug the connector and try a new fuse if it still blows remove the clutch and inspect the wires they do rub on metal and short of the power

If it only blows the fuse under hard acceleration you may have a section of wiring harness that has rubbed through somewhere and the circuit in question could be making contact with a piece of metal that is causing it to short out and blow the fuse as the engine moves slightly under the higher than normal load. I would take a good look at any wiring harnesses that run along the top, front, or sides of the engine and check for anything that is or has been rubbing against something. I have found that the wiring harness that runs just ahead of the crankshaft pulley is quite vulnerable to damage and it may be a good place to start looking.

I have. 2000 celica gt and it keeps blowing the fuse for the running lights it don't blow it right away tho???


your wire is touching the car body somewhere and has rubbed a little.Just start following the wire from your fuse to each light. Somewhere you will easily find that where the wire is closest to the body is where you need to inspect.( Mainly a wire) laying directly on frame body is most likely your problem. It can rub just enough to break the outer coating of the wire. Still when it is found close or laying the frame body the hole can be small enough that water between the frame and wire will short the fuse.Best bet any wire touching any part on car is your target.I had a problem like yours and found that a wire was ran over frame even though it was not snug. it was enough the coating rubbed with time. That was just enough when any water got underneath the car it would sit between the wire and frame, Turn on the lights and poof the water and electric was enough to cause ground and short the fuse. On a dry day they normally worked fine unless it vibed against the frame and than metal and electric made ground for a split second and caused it to short the fuse

2002 Century tail lights failed. Bulbs OK. Blew fuse. It sparks at fuse when putting in a new one. Then .. dash lights went out Can it need a new fusebox?

I do not believe you need a new fuse box, I think your have a short or ground issue at where the fuse is. But before we jump to that, let me explain what is most likely going on here. The tail lights are hooked on a system together , where it runs up to where your fuse of course is blowing. Now, even though you say your bulbs are working, what happens is, sense there is a fuse for those bulbs, is the good thing it is operating proper, in the fact of when there is a problem with this circuit ( tail lights to fuse) that it blows the fuse, rather than a fire or melting of wires. Your dash lights are part of same circuit of your talking about running light problem and dash lights. Blinkers and Break lights are on different fuse circuit.

Ok, now that i have explained the mumble jumble mechanical talk, here is what it could be,

When your tail lights are blowing fuses, and it sparks some at fuse box can be only a few things to check out.

Number one, trace wires, especially off fuse box, as well as where they go into the tail lights. This blowing of fuse can be caused by a short in the main power supply into the lights and or a ground that is touch the hot wire. It only takes just a small strand of the hot wire hitting a piece of metal and shorting it out, which would for sure cause fuse to blow and if this hot wire is hitting a piece of metal directly it for sure will cause the fuse to spark big time, when trying to put in a new fuse. The other issue is where the fuse goes into the slot, could be bad connection, or corrosion if got wet.

I personally believe your problem is not your fuse box unless it got wet or really looks bad. I believe your problem is going to be a ground wire from the taillights, (most likely at the lights them self at rear of car) thats rubbing up the hot lead on the wire or the little prong connectors. Your tail lights have a connector on them that plug into the tail lights, check those to see if there clean and look good, if there not replace them. Auto Zone can help you to get right ones to put on to connect. Only other thing is at the rear most likely where your tail lights are is the hot lead is hitting a ground wire of piece of metal, which of course will short it out. Conclusion: I think the problem you will find is at your tail light connections of where it goes into the tail lights. This would cause exact symptoms you describe, Fuse box, i doubt as you would have lots of other issues with other controls. Thanks Mike from Fixya,

I have a 2007 1200 nightster. When I turn the ignition to the on position, it blows the ignition fuse. I have trouble shot it over and over. Changed the battery and all the fuses. I don't know what to do...


Now, this sounds like a short in your wiring, I worked on one of these bikes that the wiring harness rubbed against the frame under the left side cover, Blows a fuse and will blow the fuse intermittently or it may not today but 2 or 3 days from now riding it will blow the fuse again, Check the wiring harness the complete bike from head to tail. Look for a real close fit at any spot over/under the frame / covers then check the Insulation for a rub that may have rubbed bare any wires. Check all this. NOW, you still need to check any fuses and or wiring rubs or breaks in the wire, even check harness plugs and the metal tabs inside the plugs for burnt or hot spots. Metal tabs in the plugs can get hot then cool off due to a short and loose a connection. Blowing fuses like this is a good sign of a short in the main wiring. ie. battery,lights and or ign. to and from the handle bars and area. Look in this area for your problem. Look around the front forks and headlight area under the frame mounts. We need to check your battery connection- Follow the main battery wire from the battery to the start relay. In with the relay should be other wires and at least one fuse. Check these connections and any wires in/out for a good tight fit in the plug. Look closely for a loose wire or loose fit in this plug. Now this relay will have another wire that goes down to the starter. Look for the next largest wire out of this plug / relay follow that wire as best you can along the harness look at any other connections / plugs from the harness, even plastic ties to the frame that may be to tight. Pull this wire tug on it yank on it. Next check your key switch any wiring here should be a plug that you can un-plug and look at the wiring there.

My Deville drivers seat does'nt move at all.


the drivers seat wiring harness is rubbed through and shorted to the metal frame of the seat, pull the seat out and remove the wiring harness look for a bare wire, repair that.
