Does your Ipad have WiFi capability? If your Ipad has only 3G capability then you can only access internet through your cellular service(i.e. at&t, verizon, t-mobile, etc.) provider with a data plan. In order to attach your Ipad to the linksys wrt546 router your Ipad must have WiFi capability

How do i connect to the internet

If your iPad is a WiFi only iPad, then you'll need to have Internet service that supports WiFi. If you don't have a WiFi wireless router connected to your ISP's modem, then you need to buy one and set it up.

If this is a 3G capable iPad, then your carrier should help you set up your Ipad.

I can receive but not send e-mail from my iPad with my home Linkysis. However, I can send e-mail using my iPad outside my home.

believe it or not, this makes perfect sense. out on a limb, i'd say you have a 3G ipad, which is able to send email from any email address when connected to 3G service through AT&T because of an actually awesome thing AT&T does. However in the network can be a bit tricky. Need to know your email address, is @What.com?

I misplaced my linkys cd. Is there any other way I can install linkys onto my computer to make in wireless?

The best thing to do is install Tomato or DD-WRT firmware on your router. This will increase your router's potential ten-fold.
Lifehacker did an excellent write up on doing this. Go to: http://lifehacker.com/#!178132/hack-attack-turn-your-60-router-into-a-600-router

I have bought a patch lead to connect my ipad to an external antennae. The patch lead has a stick on base to attach to the ipad. What would be the best location on the ipad to attach the base? Thanks for...

Hi there,
To be perfectly honest, I'm pretty sure you can't just fix an antennae onto an iPad and expect to get better signal. RF antenna are highly complicated things that are finely tuned. The iPads' WiFi antenna is behind it's black Apple logo, and if you have a 3G iPad the 3G antenna is inside the little black bar at the top of the back of the iPad. You could have a go at attaching your cable on there, but I very much doubt it's going to have much of an effect.
Hope that helps, good luck!

Issues with my Ipad wifi, IPAD wifi not working

According to Apple, the iPad might not automatically rejoin known WiFi networks using third-party routers that are dual-band capable (802.11 b/g and 802.11 n) when each band’s network uses the same name or use different security settings.
Apple’s recommendation? Try creating separate network names for each separate band’s network (ie: add a G to the end of the name of the 802.11 b/g band) and making sure both bands’ networks use the same security settings.

I need security code # for my wireless linkys router

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
Is there any computer online using the router.
check the IP address on that computer.
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
router set up page is the page where you can check all the router settings.
Click Here for more information about the routers and network

I have a new WRT546 and want to know if it will work with voip phone

the wrt54g is an above average router when it comes to features and WORKABILITY, and it has a long life too. if you dont want to give up this router that you have right now, try to look for a APA (analog phone adapter) that will provide your router / network a phone port for VoIP. an example is the PAP2 from Linksys also, but if you already have a VoIP service provider like Vonage, you may want to ask them for recommendations on what APA will be the best for their service.

Linkys router WRT54GS not routing

Hi, Apparently your WRT54GS is defective. This can be brought about by a power surge or near lightning strike. If after unplugging and/or the hard reset (multiple times) it will not function as before, chances are that it is really dead. And since you have lost your receipt, you will have no supporting documents to request for a replacement. Unfortunately there are no other reasonable option for you but to junk the unit. You are still lucky in a way, normally when routers go bad because of a power surge or near lightning strike, LAN devices attached to it also gets fried. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things are or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
