Hi,
My Ryobi Brushcutter starts properly on Full Choke. Then when Choke is moved to Partial Choke engine will not rev out properly and engine continually Stops. Engine will not run at all with Choke in RUN position and Stops.
Hopng you can solve my problem.
Thanks
Bob

chokes are an obstruction placed over the inlet to increase the vacuum in the carby and cannot be pressed
Primer bulbs are used to suck fuel through the diaphragms to expell all of the air in the system to allow starting
normally press the primer bulb until it is full of fuel
apply the choke and pull until it fires
remove the choke and at full throttle pull until it starts
Start with the choke on full press the fuel siphon button till the lines are full of fuel. pull handle until it tries to start but stops. move the choke to half then start again. let it run for 60 seconds on full. don't move the choke to full or it will stop. Either slow the revs and then put the choke on full or keep the revs high and slowly move the choke to full (to allow the governor to slowly advance with the new revs)
Normal starting practice is always done with the ignition on, primer as many times as it takes to 3/4 fill the bulb, move choke to full closed, crank engine until it fires once, move choke to half if there is a half position, crank engine until it starts and runs, move choke to full off.
Make sure your Air cleaner is not obstructed. Clean it!
Check your spark plug for the proper gap. Adjust your
LOW speed throttle screw. It may not be getting enough fuel flow. Check your fuel filter screen (Inside your gas tank). Good Luck
Typically: 1. Press primer button 6-7 times until you see fuel flowing 2. Engage the choke lever to full choke /--/ pull cord 3-5 times until engine begins to start 3. Move choke lever to 1/2 choke and pull cord 2-3 times until engine starts - - allow to warm up (about 30 seconds) and move choke lever to no choke / / / 4. If engine does not start, repeat 1-3 If engine does not start, repost with more detail. Thanks! :)
hi i have a homelite hbc26 strimmer and it will only rev up if choke is almost fully on if choke is moved to run position it will only idle have cleaned carb and no better,[email protected]
you need to adjust the high speed needle turn it out in 1/4 increments as you throttle it, low speed may have to come out alittle but do high speed first. I had to answer this as I use to have a pastor john in sturgeon bay, miss him alot.
>>The Following is the Instruction File for Setting the Air Mixture Screws. Any Input is Appreciated. The Procedure is the Same for 1 or 2 Mixture Screws, Just Use the Instruction File and Skip Over the Section with the Missing Mixture Screw ( Usually the H Mixture Screw). >>Now Setting the Air Mixture Screws: >>****Turn the Idle Air (L) and Main Air (H) Mixture Screws In Until SNUG **Do Not Jam** Then Reverse Both Screws 1 1/2 Turns. Set the Throttle Full Open, Start the Engine. >>Turn the Main Air (H) Mixture Screw Clockwise Until Proper Revs are Obtained. **Carefully Use your Finger and Move the Governor Arm to Rev the Engine (on Chainsaws and Trimmers Use the Trigger to Rev the Engine) Until you Reach Max RPMs (on Chainsaws and Trimmers, the RPMs are Not Set to MAX. Set to Max and then Reverse the Setting Screw 1/4 or 1/2 Turn. If the H Mixture Screw is Set too High; the Engine will be Starved for the Oil in the Gas and Damage the Piston and Jug/Cylinder) and the Engine is Running Proper at Full Throttle Up a Grade. Occasionally you May have to Turn this Counter Clockwise to Achieve the Proper Revs.** >>Now Allow the Engine to Idle. Set the Engine Idle Screw (Not Idle Air) so the Engine will Stay Running if Required. >>Now Set the Idle Air (L) Mixture Screw so there is No Hesitation when Rapidly Throttling from Idle to Full Throttle. Reset the Engine Idle if Required.****
